1977 Ford F-250 4X4 Description
Very clean, stock and original, good running and driving, cancer free 1977 Ford F-250 4X4 pickup truck. This is a really well preserved truck with a strong possibility the 86,316 miles are original based especially on the pristine nature of the engine compartment and undercarriage. I'm the Ebay go-to guy among my circle of friends and family. My buddy got it in a trade and has no use for it. Consequently he has asked me to sell it for him. I've driven it quite a bit and have become very familiar with it.
The exterior is in very good, cancer free, original condition. There are no signs of rust-through anywhere. The undercarriage is in particularly clean condition which correlates with the low miles. The paint is largely original other than signs of previous dent repair and some respray on the passenger side (it looks like the door was replaced). The inside of the bed has typical surface rust. My additional pictures show these areas in detail. Please ask for them. Most lights work as well. Decoding the VIN reveals it was built in San Jose,CA and sold in Colorado. Body condition would suggest it's never been used in a hostile weather climate.
The interior is also in good, original condition. Door panels have aged well but dash is cracked (one of the few downsides of a life spent in a dry climate). Headliner looks alright but has peeling paint. Flat glass is in good shape but windshield is cracked (less than $200 installed with new rubber molding). Windows roll up and down properly. This is an AC truck but I haven't tried to get it operational. Heater fan works; radio does not. The bench seat has been reupholstered in the relatively recent past. Steering wheel hasn't been realigned since installation of the lift kit by prior owner. It's an easy job.
The running gear is very solid and represents a particular strong point (in addition to the great sheet metal). Engine is a 400M V8 (minor exhaust manifold leak), transmission is a 4 speed manual New Process 435, transfer case is the respected New Process 205, front differential is a high-pinion Dana 44 with locking hubs and the rear is a Dana 60 (both with 4.10's). This is also a power steering and power brake truck. Transfer case shifts in and out of 4WD properly. And while the transmission shifts well it will need a clutch sometime in the future. The truck runs and drives nicely but could stand a carb adjustrment or rebuild.
This is a great example of a solid, original, nicely patina'd, well-preserved vintage F250. It's a tight driver with only typical Ford door rattles. It has great bones and only needs some fine tuning of the little stuff to be an awesome daily driver. The only deviation from stock is the modest lift kit (recently installed) with new Rough Country shocks. I think it's a big improvement over the stock profile but is easily reversible if you are a purist. 1973-1979 Ford trucks are steadily increasing in value as well... something to think about.

This very cool 1977 Ford F-250 4X4 pickup truck is located in the dry, desert community of Santa Clara, Utah(about 125 miles north of Las Vegas). Good luck and good bidding. |
