1966 GMC K1000 Pick Up Description

Selling my 1966 GMC fleet side short bed shop truck. This is a very solid vintage truck. I have owned it 2 years. I put the faux rust on and have driven it as I bought it. I purchased it because it was an extremely solid base with many hot rod upgrades already complete. I had intended to go through this truck restore and customize it, but a change in my employment is forcing the sale.
I have driven it to work every day for the past 2 months. Fires right up every time you hit the key. Always in town, never over 45 miles/hour. Far from perfect but drive it as is, drive it while you fix it or do full build. This truck needs some maintenance. How much is up to you.
The GOOD:350 with Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock carb, Edelbrock valve covers and air filter, 700R4, 12 bolt rear, front disc brakes, torque thrust wheels. Minimal rust in common locations. Tops of cab A pillars and drip rails very little rust. Frame light surface rust. Rockers replaced by previous owner. Minimal fiberglas repair on cab floor. Rust on body is faux paint application over existing green paint. New windshield and seal. New metal wiper blades. New stainless rear view mirrors. Temp gauge works, fuel gauge works. Heat/defrost and fan work.
The BAD:Front tires nearly bald. Fair amount of play in steering. Power steering has slow leak. Puffs a little smoke when you start it when engine is hot but not when it's cold. Manifold leak which you hear when engine is under load. Windshield wipers stopped working a couple weeks ago. I have new switch, but the switch is not the problem. Turn signals work but the turn signal arm fell off and needs to be replaced. Speedo does not work but odometer still turns numbers. Fuel smell in cab if you over fill fuel tank. Tear in driver's seat.
This is a desirable body style and extremely solid example. Will make awesome build/restore project or cool RoadKill shop truck.
