1948 GMC 100 Short Bed Patina Shop Truck Rat Rod Description
1948 GMC 100 short bed 1/2 ton pickup truck. 228 inline six cylinder, 3 speed on the column. This a very good running and driving ole truck. The steering is tight, the engine is smooth, the transmission shifts easy, and stops great. GMC started using full Oiler engines with inserts in 1939 unlike Chevrolet that didn't start until the mid 50s. This truck has had a lot done to it over the past few months to make it 100%.New fuel tank, new fuel pump, new carburetor, new water pump, new belt, new lower radiator hoses, fresh coolant, complete tune-up, new electronic ignition, new battery, new battery cables, new heater shut off valve and cable, all fluids changed, new 12 volt bulbs, new wiper arms, new wiper blades, new exhaust from the engine back, new 16 inch wheels, new BFGoodrich tires, new wheel centers and bands, new tail lights, new tail light brackets, new wood in the bed, new glove box insert, new parking brake pedal pad, new clutch and brake pedal pad, new throttle pedal assembly, choke cable replaced, and a complete lube job. The under dash ac unit tested good and is wired up. Works awesome as a fan and with the rest of the ac components will blow cold air.Cosmetically it has rust in the cab corners, lower cowl, bottom inside of the doors, and very bottom of the dash. None of the rust is horrible and all very repairable. The windshield is foggy around the edges No Cracks. The door glass roles up and down easy but has cracks in them. The body is straight with patina.Mechanically it's great. The 228 six cylinder runs flawlessly. It rides surprisingly good, and stops excellent considering it has drum brakes. It doesn't smoke, knock, or rattle. It's very solid underneath. The head lights, marker lights, tail lights, brake lights, dash lights, and dome light all work.Clear title.
