1968 GMC Suburban, True Survivor, 55,000 original miles!
1968 GMC Suburban Description
Original Engine 327 (230hp/300 torque), 4 barrel rochester carb, HEI Distributor, True dual exhaust with original manifolds, 4 Row Frostbite aluminum radiator with built in trans cooler, edelbrock aluminum water pump. Engine does not smoke or use oil. I have driven this 5,000 + miles in last year, changed oil 3 times. I replaced valve cover gaskets and inside of covers, heads & valve train were very clean. Does leak a spot about the size of a nickel after driving. Heater core has a pinhole in it and will leak a small amount inside, I bypassed as I was planning on adding a vintage air setup. Everything else works as it should. Windshield washer pump, hoses reservoir were missing when I got vehicle. Passes AZ Emissions with no problem. Th 400 transmission shifts smooth. I changed fluid & filter, pan bolts still had original coating on them. Original rear end with 3:36 Gears, New leaf springs and bushings by previous owner. 4 wheel disc brake, brake booster, proportioning valve conversion. Brothers trucks, by previous owner. 275/55/20 Falken Tires on MKG Wheels, 2 tires replaced this past summer. Other 2 are nearly new.Windshield replaced by previous owner, All other glass original & tinted legal. Roof repainted by previous owner, all other patina bodywork original. Retro sound slide bar radio & kenwood in dash speaker by previous owner. I added 2 -6x9's under back seat. I had seats redone by a local shop in glendale, az. Original layout with more durable fabric. I replaced all 3 doors, tailgate & hatch weatherstrip. I also replaced window felt & gaskets on front doors & cowl vent seals. Driver door panel covering has some tears from running into seat belt. Stewart Warner Tach. New marker & tail light lenses, I have original that i will include. I will include all receipts from previous owner and myself. I drive this 2 - 3 times per week. When its cold, pump the gas once and it fires right up. Power steering squeals a bit and goes away quickly. I drove it home from Escondido, California with no trouble. I am selling because I am moving out of state.
