1948 GMC 100 Rat Rod 0 Pickup Truck LT-1 3-Spd Auto
1948 GMC Other Rat Rod Description
STK 2850 1948 GMC
By today's standards, the 1948 GMC 3100 pick-up could be considered a 'step-side' - a Silverado from another time. This 3100 'Rat Rod' has served honorably as our shop-truck for about a year. From the plank bed to the distinctive 'patina' finish, this GMC pick-up is an eye-catcher. The body is straight, true, but does have a 'few' areas where rust is present. There is even the possibility that some of the original finish may still be present. US Mags 20" chrome spoke alloys mount Delinte radials for a great look and stance. The interior is well 'thought out'. A comfortable bench seat is upholstered in black vinyl and the dash houses a 'factory' gauge package (currently inop). A Sunpro gauge package has been added along with a late-model tilt wheel column. There is no A/C, but a full windshield sun visor keeps passengers cool and comfortable. The engine compartment is home for a 350ci Chevy LT-1 motor. We do not know of the donor vehicle, but an educated guess would be a mid-'90s Impala/ Camaro. These engines had cast iron heads, fuel injection, dedicated ECM controller and were rated at 275bhp-325lb/ft. The LT-1 is backed by a GM 3-speed automatic with custom floor shift. Electrics have been converted to 12-volt and a new fuel tank has been installed. Steering is power assisted, brakes are power disc/drum w/dual master cylinder and a front sway bar aids handling. This GMC 3100 gets down the road very well and will soon become a fun ride for a lucky someone. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
