1970 GMC C25
1970 GMC Truck Description
1970 GMC C25 SIERRA GRANDE CUSTOM TRUCK.
NO RESERVE BEYOND OPENING BID.
Green on green on green.
Very cool truck. Lots of people try to make their trucks look like this original, unrestored patina example.
The truck is able to run, drive and stop.
Fix a couple things and enjoy, do a full blown restoration or maybe even convert it to a short bed 2500 with 8 lugs.... Great base for any of them. Put a vintage camper in the bed and hit the great outdoors. You would have one of the coolest rigs at any campground.
I replaced all the spark plugs recently and ran a compression check on each cylinder at that time. They were all within 138 to 150 psi. It started the other morning in the 28° Ohio weather after a little bit of cranking, so I think the engine is pretty healthy.
I feel the engine could use a carburetor and/or timing adjustment. The truck idles but bogs down on acceleration when cold. It accelerates better after the engine warms up. Just to be safe, I recommend having a mechanic check over the vehicle before driving.
Leaf spring rear suspension with what I believe is the stock dana 60 rear axle.
Due to the condition of the inside of the bed, camping sticker on the windshield, graduated level on the door, weather stripping at the front of the bed, missing stock tailgate, adjustable coil spring rear shocks and tie downs on the front fenders, I believe it is safe to say this truck was mainly used for camping purposes by the previous owner with an in bed camper.
I considered replacing the rockers and painting them to match the current patina, but decided to sell it in untouched condition instead. I even left the vintage home made electrocution varmint trap on the driver's side wheel well in the engine bay. I did remove the electrical wire running to it from the battery.
This truck has dents, scratches, leaks (looks like valve covers on both sides) and some rust that one would expect for an unrestored truck of this vintage. The rockers, cab corners and outer rear wheel arches could easily be repaired if the new owner desired, but overall I consider this a pretty solid truck.
Included is a photo of truck being washed to show the color wet and what it could look like if the paint was buffed. I have only washed the truck 1 time. I have not attempted to buff or touch up the paint.
The radiator or lower coolant hose has recently sprung a leak. I have not taken the time to diagnose it more specifically or repair. I just put a bucket underneath as I don't drive the truck. This should be repaired before driving the vehicle any distance or letting the engine get hot.
I believe the interior is in great original condition except for maybe the missing carpet and cracks in the steering wheel. The GM radio still works.
I am NOT listing this truck for sale locally. Whoever wins the auction gets the truck, so you can bid confidently that it won't disappear before the end of the auction.
As seen in one of the photos, I acquired a mid 70s Chevrolet 2500 8 lug disc brake front cross member and steering. It could easily be installed on the truck if the new owner would want to convert the truck to disc brakes and keep the 8 lug setup. HOWEVER, this is only included if the buyer comes to pickup the truck and the additional front end setup. If you have the truck shipped, it is NOT included.
The manual, books and pieces in the glove box shown are included in the sale.
Please make any inquiries regarding the truck PRIOR to bidding. I will try and answer any questions and will work with you to schedule a time if you would like to inspect the truck in person prior to the end of the auction.
Buyer responsible for all shipping cost and arrangements. Truck must be picked up within 14 days after the auction ends.
$250.00 PayPal deposit due within 24 hours of winning bid.
Remaining balance MUST be paid in cash or bank wire transfer within 72 hours of the end of the auction. Any other payment form will NOT be accepted.
