1960 GMC 1000 1/2 Ton Stepside Shortbed Description

This 1960 GMC 1/2 ton pickup has been garage kept since new. Only two owners in her lifetime with the second owner hanging on for 37 years. The very stout 400 cu in engine was professionally built in a speed shop in 1985. She runs terrific and does not have any leaks or defects. The bullet proof 350 turbo automatic transmission was rebuilt in 2015. Her shifts are crisp and firm without leaks or issues. The 3.08 posi traction rear provides great highway cruising and came out of the infamous 1972 Chevrolet Pickup. The body was painted in 2011 with a single stage urethane. The color grapefruit yellow pops and does not have many blemishes. The bumpers are new, the chrome is shiny and the grille is a 1963 Chevrolet stock grill. This truck came stock with a tension bar front suspension and the ball joints have recently been replaced. The GMC has dual exhaust with 2 1/2 inch exhaust manifolds. Power steering and power brakes round out this sweetheart making her a pleasure to drive. This short bed stepside is a blast to drive and very desirable. Extremely collectable this rig will provide years of enjoyment and be a great investment as well. Please call with any questions or concerns.

Platt Motors was founded by Grandpa Dan Platt in 1931 as a used car dealer in Elizabeth NJ. He took on the infamous marquees of Nash then Willys before retirement. His son Sheldon (Thee Old Man) was a wholesale buyer for many dealerships on the East and West coast before retiring after 40+ years in the business. As a third generation car nut I pulled the old man out of retirement to reignite Platt Motors inc for future generations. Our only interest is Preserving and Re Homing historic automobiles. With a pulse on the market and time on our hands we spend our days prying open Barns and garages and traipsing through fields. Known as a pioneer in the Automotive industry Grandpa Dan would be proud of the torch he passed down to us that we proudly carry into the future.
