1979 International Harvester Scout Description

This is a 1979 International Scout II. My father purchased it new. He drove it until 2002. It then sat in the garage for about 13 years. The mileage is 57,983 actual miles, guaranteed!I have been driving it occasionally to work twice a month for a around a year. It has current WV inspection sticker. Vehicle runs and drives good. Just drove it yesterday. Engine runs fine but does crank a while to start. Rebuilt carb but still needs work. Transmission and transfer case work great. A/C works. Does have rust but in good shape for a scout. Has rust through in corner floor in back of both wheel wells. Vehicle can be driven to new home, tread is good but tires are at least 13 years old.
My dad did body work around the wheel wells and under the rockers. Also he painted over the side stickers because they were peeling. The body is not bad but not perfect. The radio and carb are not original. I do have originals in box that goes with sale. All items are original. Transmission, engine, everything. The starter was replaced in the 1990's. Also heater switch on dash does not work. My father added a manual 3 speed switch under the dash. Heater works fine with this add on switch. Vehicle is complete, nothing is missing. All equipment works as do all the lights and wipers. Comes with shop manuals, owners manual and other documents. Have windows sticker and build sheet.
Vehicle is in really good shape and drive line is great. Vehicle has rust and needs body work, it is not in perfect condition. See video for details and to see cab mounts and underneath vehicle. Drivers seat is torn and dash has 3 cracks in it. When not being driven the Scout sits in our garage.

I have two youtube video's that show lots of detail and describe the vehicle. Please watch tounderstand all about the truck.
