1976 International Harvester Scout TRAVELER Description

Up for auction is a 1976 IH Scout II Traveler 4x4, 345 V8 engine, 727 Torque-flight Automatic transmission, dual exhaust
  • NEW: Fuel Pump, Aluminum Radiator, Water Pump, Battery, Newer upholstery, rear and front main seals, rebuilt carb., most major gaskets replaced, vacuum lines replaced, new belts and hoses
  • HISTORY: A deceased family member left this rig to me. It had sat for 12+ years and needed some work to get it running. The paint is old and chipped in places. There are signs of rust, but nothing major. There is some bondo around the rear wheel wells. It will need new tires soon. Although most major gaskets have been replaced, there is a very small oil leak somewhere (it leaves about a dot/spot a day). Some of the gauges on the dash do not work (could be as simple as a fuse or reconnecting a wire). There may be a few bugs left to work out
  • THE GOOD:The engine and running gear are strong. It runs well, but I haven't taken it on long trips. There is plenty of power and the truck seems solid. The interior is nice and the glass is good. These are fun rigs. I have owned many Scouts and would keep this one, but the kids' tuition is due and unfortunately the Scout has to go :(
