1972 Jaguar E-Type V-12 4-Speed Coupe, Restored Survivor, Garaged, Low Miles
1972 Jaguar E-Type Description
1972 Jaguar E-Type Coupe w/21,200 original miles and same owner from 1977, ~43yrs. Always garaged during ownership and the JCNA Heritage Certificate documents the originality of car, all numbers match. Primrose yellow exterior w/black original interior w/Nardi wood steering wheel, 4-Speed car, Chrome Wire Wheels w/new Sumitomo HTR A/S HR tires and new radial tubes. Exceptional condition w/major maintenance and significant upgrades performed by Owner to enhance overall performance and enjoyment.
Most recent maintenance/upgrades were to the braking system where new Wilwood front calipers and drilled/slotted vented rotors were installed along with new Master and Servo Brake Cylinders and new reservoirs and braided flex lines. Rear brake bleeder line extensions and caliper pads were also installed and everything completely bled out with Girling GT LMA synthetic fluid. A new Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder were also installed.
Engine maintenance and upgrades include new complete set of coolant hoses, belts, motor and trans mounts, Cometic gaskets used where needed, HP Aluminum 2-row high flow radiator and new correct T-Stats, upgraded electric cooling fans, SNG Barratt HP ignition system including distributor with Magnecor plug wires, carburetors rebuilt w/all new kits and plugs and K&N air filters added, high-torque gear reduction starter added along with a custom spin-on oil filter adapter.
More upgrades include ceramic coating all 4 exhaust manifolds and the new Bell S/S down-pipes, and addition of S/S 'bullet' mufflers. Custom powder coating was applied to the cam covers and the 4 intake manifolds as well. Elimination of 'gulp valve' and 'air injectors' was also performed. New oil pressure senders were added and engine was 'resealed' where possible without removal of oil pan or cam towers. Engine oil and filter changed as well as the transmission and differential gear oils, chassis points and wheel bearings greased, engine timing set and carbs tuned/flowed.
Body panel fit is good, no rust at all, a couple dings/dents nothing big (car body and paint is as it was when purchased in1977), paint is about a 7-8 of 10 mainly due to chips in paint, appears to have been at least partially resprayed but definitely a very nice driver and one that still gets admiring looks at car shows.
All work has been performed by a conscientious owner with the help and advice of fellow Jag owners on the web forums. Receipts for many of the parts used. Everything including gauges and lights and fans and A/C is working with exception of the horn and possibly the fuel level gauge. The radio has been deleted. Comes with the original Owners Manual, jack, K/O tool and hammer (missing a good spare wheel at this time).
