This CJ 7 was restored as a Golden Eagle by previous owner. I purchased as a 2018 Christmas gift and made a few minor modifications to be wife’s fishing vehicle.
It is powered by 4.2l straight 6 which was recently rebuilt, again by PO. New Mopar fuel injection was added to replace the old carburetor. High performance cam and crank were also installed during the rebuild. The 5 speed transmission was rebuilt as well with new clutch and pressure plate. It has the 2 speed Dana transfer case. I just completed the 400 mile oil change on this motor. The chassis has a lot more miles, probable over 180,000. Recently went through front end, repairing or replacing rod ends, ball joints, bushings and bearings. Also replaced steering box and added steel castor shims to get the proper front caster settings. THIS JEEP IS NOT LIFTED.
New shocks all around and all brakes recently rebuilt by PO with new pads and shoes. Also, a new front steering stabilizer. Both front and rear drive shafts were replaced, and a new gas tank was installed with new fuel line. Also has a new aluminum radiator. NOTE: the A/C is not complete. All parts are there, but not electrically connected nor are the refrigerant hoses. Brand new Falken 30X9.50 15LT 104S traction tires and full size spare mounted on swivel. Front (Chrome) and rear tubular bumpers. It also has chrome side ‘rockguard/step’ bars. An overhead two function light bar is installed and switchable daytime running lights. There is provision for towbar/base plate up front and 2” rear receiver.
I removed the rear seat and installed a “trunk” area with a padded cover so it can be used as seat. Still have the seat and I used the seat hardware mounts so it can easily be re-installed. There is also a power outlet at the inside rear and 12v switched power outside at the spare tire. Wiring is there for trailer receptacle (not yet installed).
Inside is has new carpet and seats are remarkably nice. There is a new center consul and new chrome dash panel. All the gauges are either new or rebuilt original and function properly. There its a new overhead sound bar installed and I installed upper grab handles for easier entrance and exit as well.
I have the 4 ft. offroad jack, axe and shovel. I removed the top rack (too tall), but still have it available. I don’t think the best quality, but it could be re-installed (and quality upgraded). The rack section is aluminum and the support tubing steel. It attaches to the front light bar mount.
While VERY clean, there are a few nicks and dings as the exterior restoration was done a few years ago. Final adjustments to doors, etc. not complete yet, however, this CJ 7 is a bargain for any enthusiast.
Must go, turns out she cannot drive it (medical health reasons) and it has been in indoor storage for over a year now. MAKE AN OFFER!
