Let’s take a closer look now, top to bottom, inside and out.

Exterior:

The exterior paint is heavily oxidized, and corrosion is present with rust-through sections on the body… but that’s the worst of it.

If you continue down or click the slideshow to inspect the 50+ photos of the undercarriage, you’ll see that the frame is 100% rust and collision free!

Some of the trim pieces and lenses were removed in preparation for a full body restoration that was never completed.

These rocker panels are heavily corroded but this is only the body sheet metal, the frame is not rusted.

33”BF Goodrich “Baja Champion” All Terrains are mounted to 15” aluminum wheels.

Looking underneath, zero corrosion or collision damage can be found on the frame. Photo above is of the brand new gas tank.

Aftermarket suspension includes a 4 ½” lift kit with Con Ferr shackles.

No rust on the frame or floor pans.

Monroe gas adjustable shocks front and rear.

Rusty on the outside but NOT in the inside!

Engine is clean and dry.

Exhaust headers improve engine performance.

Brake service included new soft lines, master and wheel cylinders.

New starter motor can be seen above.

New alternator and spin-on oil filter assembly.

Sheet metal under fenders still looks good.

The interior features a full roll bar, front buckets, and rear bench seat.

Seat upholstery is also weathered and torn.

The center speedometer with the odometer reading 25,857 (TMU) is non-functioning.

An aftermarket tachometer and Equus Performance gauge cluster for oil pressure, voltage and water temp was added.

A working tachometer is mounted to the steering column.

Rust through spots are seen on the windshield frame. This item should be replaced.

Floorboards are solid.

The top frame includes right & left BesTop vinyl upholstered doors with zip-down windows. A vinyl top is not included.

4 Simpson lap belts are included, the driver's set is installed and an electric winch is included but not installed.

Raising the front hood reveals the powerfulV8 engine.

The 258ci V8 engine with exhaust headers is coupled to a 3-speed manual transmission with 4X4 transfer case.

Within the last 100 miles, a mechanical refurbishment was completed by the current owner which includes rebuilt brakes, alternator, starter motor, Edelbrock carburetor, Optima battery, Accel Super ignition coil and fuel pump.

Additionally, all filters, hoses, belts, distributor cap, spark plugs, wires and fluids were changed.

Mechanical and driveability:

This CJ5 runs, drives, handles and stops excellently.

The engine starts quickly and idles very smoothly without any unusual noises or smoke.

It's bullet-proof drive train certainly provides more than sufficient power on or off road.
