1989 Land Rover Range Rover COUNTY Description

Clean California 1989 LandRover Range Rover Classic, a SWB ( Short Wheel Base) configuration. This is a harder-to-find, early NON-ABS model. 1989 was the last year model of the Classic without the more-troublesome and expensive to repair ABS.
Solid TWO-OWNER California Land Rover, residing here all of itslife since being sold new by Wes Lasher Range-Rover in Sacramento, CA.It has a dealer-applied Great Divide Commemorative Edition badge as pictured. It is not event-numbered to my knowledge.Second owner was an English gentleman that moved back to the UK, who'd owned it for at least the last 17 years ( according to old registration cards) and lived in Pacifica, CA.
This Classic is completely original. 54K odometer miles, which I surmise not to be original, nor do I state it as such. I am selling it as mileage unknown; nevertheless, it runs very, very well with lots of power and torque. It is my understanding that there had been extensive engine work performed at some point; as I do not have invoices to document it, I am merely noting it as explained to me by the previous owner before he moved back to England. The engine looks to have been apart and at the very-least the heads to have been redone for sure, and it runs GREAT).

There is no rust or corrosion on the chassis, floorboards, bulkhead, doors and trunklid in is vehicle as it would be expected from any California-lived Land Rover ( hard-pressed condition to find in any beyond the Sierra mountains). BEWARE OF RUST BUCKETS COMING FROM THE EAST COAST~! ( it's beyond me why anyone would want to buy an East coast car with potential hidden undercarriage rust, which is unrepairable ).
This Classic comes equipped with all County-package features available at the time of production to include:
* Power seats* Factory Towing package* Hella H2 headlamps* Sunroof* Power windows* HELLA 450 Auxiliary driving lights

Stock 3.9L engine runs EXCELLENT. As it is well documented in all Land rover circles, this motor was an improvement over the earlier 3.5 engines as it was more robust and had more torque as a result of engine redesigning to increase displacement to a more efficient, reliable motor. NO overheating issues to contend with.
Automatic transmission shifts well into all gears. Four-wheel Power disc brakes brake smoothly without pulsation.Power steering,Power windows ( all four work), Power seats, cruise control, CD player and A/C.Recent items include:* New radial tires* New battery* Remanufactured alternator* New Brake master cylinder

Finish is in rare optional Alaskan-Blue factory color, without the usual oxidation present on the roof and hood ( common ailment in all Land Rovers). The body retains its shine nicely despite its longevity. Chassis, floorboards, door sills, doors and undercarriage are super solid and completely RUST-FREE, amazing considering this Classic is nearly thirty years young !

Its rare, special-order Westminster-gray Connolly leather upholstery is in good condition and has held up well considering its age. There is one seam separation on the bottom cushion on the driver's seat, commensurate with age, as noted in the photos.CLEAN headliner ( likely its original as it's made of the early felt-like material as originally used on early Range Rovers). New dome lights. NON-SMOKER vehicle ALWAYS.

The photos show this SWB Classic accurately. A super solid, unrestored Range Rover Short WheelBase. It runs well with a strong, solid powertrain. It will make an excellent base for a concours restoration, road traveler or overlander, camping vehicle or just a fun old Land Rover to drive aroundas it is or tinker with.
* My over 1300+ all-positive feedback and the vehicle's condition and photographs speak for themselves.

I am a long-time Land Rover enthusiast and owner. I've been around Land Rovers for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages.Unlike the vast majority of sellers who simply sell what they do not know ( let alone car dealers!), I have proudly owned Land Rovers my whole life ( actually, I still own four others: a 2010 Sport, a 2004 HSE, a 2003 Discovery II SE7 and a 1966 109) and I am fairly familiar with all their quirks.

Feel free to call me with serious, pertinent questions at (650) 430-4660 PST or text message if preferred. I have priced this 1989 Range Rover Classic below-market to sell. This is one of the best years of the SWB, before they stopped being manufactured and went on to become part of automotive history. You simply cannot find them anywhere for this price without being totally rotted out, in terrible worn-out shape or being sold out of some questionable area by equally questionable types. My reputation and my feedback are my card.
Given the alternative of purchasing a $35K+ restored example, this original SWB is the most sensible alternative, and you can fix it up to your taste - not someone else's. Or simply drive it and enjoy it as it sits.Land Rovers are the best investment for the money, and they are going to keep going up in value.
I am also advertising this vehicle in several other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time should a serious BUY-IT-NOW offer present itself prior to the end of the listing.
