1979 Lincoln Mark Series Mark 5 Continental Air Ride Description

NO RESERVE - Lincoln Mark V, BlackLeather, Moonroof, Professional Air Ride System

1979 Mark V, 65k,400 V8, rare black leather interior. Every option available for the Mark V is on this car, including power quarter windows, dual power split bench seats, "miles to empty" digital readout, digital am/fm 8-trackstereo (almost $500 option in 1979), tilt steering wheel, power antenna, power trunk release and the tintedglass moonroof with sliding privacy shade. Custom stereo under dash with DVD screen on passenger dash. Twoseparate pumps, three trunk mounted, isolated and equally charged batteries and four independent switches, one for each wheel. The hydraulicswork smooth and responsive. The car can can easily be raised to regular height and driven normally, with nice tight handling due to the high end air suspension. Not so much a "hopper" as an air-ride controlled custom car, over $8k invested in customization. Factory wheels available.

I am also considering sale of my rare 1979 Cartier Edition Mark V, details below. Auction is for burgundy Lincoln only.

The Lincoln lived down in Texas all its life, it's only been up in New York for a short time, selling due to finances. All the custom work has been professionally done, much invested. Recent work includes water pump, high output fan, a/c compressor, alternator, tuneup including installation of high output MSD distributor and plug wires. Runs great, lots of power, sounds great through dual Flowmaster exhaust.

The Lincoln was repainted about ten years ago and has a nice deep shine. The car is super straight and clean underneath, being a Southern car it's never seen winter and is corrosion free and solid. The seats have seams that are beginning to open up, I was going to have them reupholstered, carpet is fairly new. Overall presents beautifully and the four switches are fun to flip, each wheel raises and lowers independently. It's my first "air ride" car and it's a fun, fast, attention grabbing classic. I can send video clips on request.

I reserve the right to end the auction early as theLincolnis for sale locally and I'm open to reasonable buy it now offers as well.I can assist with shipping in the USA or internationally if necessary, cost of shipping to paid by buyer. If you need it I can recommend a door to door auto shipper I've used many times in the past; they're professional, reliable and have great rates.

Once again, this is aNO RESERVEauction

400 V8, 39k, Cartier edition with quarter vinyl top and "astro-roof" moonroof. Options includedualpower seats quarter windows that lower and raise before main window, auto headlights, hideaway headlight doors, tilt steering wheel, color matched "turbine"wheels, remote trunk release and automatic dimming headlights. Here's a page describing the features of the 79 Cartier Edition:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln_Continental_Mark_V#Cartier

Very solid old Lincoln overall, the only real rust behind the front wheels; two new front fenders are included. The rear has a heavy duty tow hitch with a plug for brake and directional lights as well as adjustable air shocks. The power moonroof, power quarter windows, main windows, power seats and headlight doors work properly. The floors and trunk are solid. The brakes feel a bit low, might need a master cylinder and the gas tank will drip iffilledfully. The a/c compressor turns on and there is still some old style freon in the system, it blows cool. Recent work includes radiator, valve cover gaskets, water pump and alternator. All reasonable offers considered, willing to let both Lincolns go as a package. Both have clear titles. Auction is for the burgundy Lincoln only.

Rare,StylishCollector's Series Mark IVCartier Edition,460 V8, Powerful, Swank and Luxurious
Fully Optioned 1975 Lincoln Continental Coupe,64k original miles.
Cartier Edition withtwo toned leather seats, color-coordinated to the whole car. The handsomecream andcordovancolor scheme appears throughout the design of the interior and exterior; the paint, trim accents and striping all around the car follow the two colors, a more subtle Designer Series look. Options include dual power bench seats (with the rare reclining passenger seat), power quarter windows, padded and upholstered door panels, 8-Track AM/FM, cruise control, tilt wheel, remote trunk release, auto lamps / auto dimming and premium materials all through the interior, even the trunk. The Cartier Edition has extra chrome bevels andornamentationall around the body, offset with painted trim and striping, lending the Lincoln a unique, artistic quality.
I bought it from the daughter of the owner of thirty or so. He's up in age andwasn't able to discuss the car, but I got the sense that he took marvelous care of the car and spared no expense. The service records are lost; his daughter thinks they may show up eventually when cleaning up,We do have a clean title, thankfully. She told me her dad was always sending the Lincoln in to get various work done. The interior looks fresh, smells great and feels soft and luxurious. A rich, pleasant almost "new car" smell of leather and Lincoln greet you when opening the door. The paint looks fairly fresh, immaculate with a deep gloss and the vinyl top looks to have been done recently, it's soft and supple. The car starts easily, it's powerful, smooth and quiet. Many new parts visible under the hood and at least part of the exhaust is new. The garage floor is dry when I pull the car out, it doesn't seem to drip from anywhere.
I don't know much about its history because of the previous owner's forgetfulness and lack ofservicerecords. I only purchased it at the beginning of April, a friend of a friend passed the recommendation along. I did not expect it to be anywhere this nice, it was a good surprise. I parked it at the auto storage place I use, I've only taken it out a few times to local car shows and a couple of day trips. I was "notified" earlier in the week that the facility is closing by the end of the month and is soon to be demolished, essentially telling all us obsessive car guys that"You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here".Having no storage options at the moment, the car can't be parked outside and here we are. A reasonable offer will buy the car, just please be quick and painless about it. This has quickly become one of my all time favorite old cruisers.
This is probably the nicest and most complete, good looking and "functional" classic I've owned overall, I will get in and turn the key like a regular car. Roadworthy and rock steady on the highway, this Mark is a well handling, "steering with a finger" cruiser who is perfectly happy withcruise control set at 75and has good disc brakes for quick stops. Fly in and drive home, drive from New York City to Los Angeles, down the coast to Floridaor just keep driving, lounging in the plush interior as the scenery goes by,she's got you handled.Nearly spotless underneath, my mechanic was impressed by the solid clean underside when he first put it up on a lift, its "Garage Queen" status obvious. He pointed out that it had the Ziebart treatment when new, all these years later she's clean and solid, not a hint of a paint bubble anywhere. Looking it over,he figuredthe odometer was about right, it looked like a very low mileage car that had never seen winter.
Gorgeous, rare 70's Lincoln in exceptional condition that's sure to appreciate.
