The Maserati Sebring was one the last cars to come from the 3500 GT chassis, which was their first attempt at making a road car in large numbers. While Maserati had an extremely successful racing program in the 50s, their parent company ran into financial difficulties, forcing Maserati to turn to road cars to keep the company alive. The Sebring was the work of coachbuilder Vignale, in which they created a beautiful grand touring 2+2 with sporting heritage stemmed from their racing program. The Sebring proved Maserati was capable of making some of the finest grand touring cars available at the time.
This unique condition Maserati was ordered new in Barcelona, Spain, and was owned and cared for by a single owner since new all the way until 2014. Soon after, the car made its way to the USA where the second owner, a collector, took care of it in Southern California. The car comes with an enormous collection of factory original documents, I.E. Owner’s manual, warranty booklet, maintenance booklet, Classiche documents. Also included with the car is the complete original tool kit and mallet.
This excellent preservation class example is in remarkable original condition both inside and out. Largely original paint remains complemented with an off white original Connolly leather interior, which shows incredibly well. The interior is completely original, including carpets, dash, and all hides along with the headliner. Mechanically it is in excellent overall condition. Shifting and driving gives one the feeling of a low mile Maserati. This example is one of the best we have driven in years. I must also mention how dry and rust free the chassis is! Not to mention how original the engine compartment is. It is virtually untouched since new.
