1985 Mazda RX-7 Description

Selling my beloved 85 Rx7 GSL! I bought it as a running car with it’s legendary 12a engine. The plan was to put in the beast 20b engine in it, which I did. However, I did not get to finish the job due to a job relocation overseas!

The following is a list of things the car needs completing to get it to start. Of course, you will need to fine tune the computer with your own map.

-Connect blue wire from computer to ignition switch

-Connect starter ground wire to chassis or engine

The car has fresh oil, so after the above you can turn the key and listen to the beast! You will need a battery though, I took the one it had.

The following are things that need finishing:

-Header needs two bolts and one nut to completely secure it

-Exhaust system needs a bit more adjusting, but it’s there!

-Electric Fans need to be wired up

-Brake system needs bleeding as it has new master cylinder/ clutch slave

-Bosch 044 fuel pump could be relocated to the trunk, it’s in the stock location, but it’s all hooked up already

-I have a big brake bracket kit for the front that would need installing, but I have it

What you get:

85 FB GSL with clean interior

Recaro bucket seat (driver’s side only)

Nardi Steering Wheel

Stock 20B Series B, 3 rotor engine (I picked this from a running car while living in Okinawa, Japan)

Haltech E11V2 ECU

Turbo II Transmission, manual

Custom drive shaft with new yoke

New master cylinder

New Clutch Slave

Custom sub-frame

Custom headers

LS1 Coils

MSD Wires

Racing beat Pulleys

New spark plugs

15” 5 spoke wheels (4x110) - no tires

Big brake kit brackets and bearing set (front only)

Racing beat piping and rotor shaped exhaust

Russell/Eldelbrock AN fittings all over

Bosch 044 Fuel pump

Eibach lowering Springs

Moldings for the car (I have all of sides plus spares)

Whale wing

Glass moon roof and sun roof (has some dings)

Car was painted in 2014 and has been garaged most of the time since then. I would cut and buff the paint though as it’s been a while. The engine bay was prepped and sprayed to match the car, brake booster was also painted gun metal, so looks nice. The under part of the hood was also prepped and painted, so it looks fresh and clean.

Again, I’m only selling because I cannot finish this project due to my move as stated above. I don’t want this car to just sit there forever, so I must let it go. The car is currently in covered storage in San Antonio and must be towed!

Serious buyers please, see my feedback reputation, so I expect nothing less from the prospective buyer.

If you have any questions, please submit them and I’ll do my best to reply within a day. At the moment I do not have current pictures of the engine bay, but I assure you it’s complete. Unfortunately I lost the pictures I took during my move. Everything else looks the same, the engine has all components installed and like I said earlier, there are only a few things needed under the hood to get the car to start.

If you buy it you must makean immediate deposit of $750and the rest of the funds I prefer cash, cashier's check or wire transfer from a legit bank institution, no crazy king or queen from Nigeria please!

Arrangements should be made to pick up within one week from purchase. Please contact me immediately to make these arrangements as I'll have to fly from Europe to San Antonio to personally sign over the blue title. I don't have to do this, but I'd like to do this...I have my brother in law that can do the transaction, but I prefer to be present and see my baby one more time before it leaves! :(

For a history of how the car came about, please go to the RX7Club dot come web site and search "85 GSL Restoration with 20b swap in mind" or "20B Swap into my 85 GSL"

For more pictures, please let me know. I'll try to get them right away.
