RARE 1989 Mercedes w124 230TE Station Wagon 4 speed MANUAL STICK no Diesel 300TD
1909 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series Description
I had this 1989 European Station Wagon Vehicle Identification Number WDB1240831F119293 shipped in from Florida to me here in NY a few months ago as a project. This car was in storage in Florida for over 10 years and I would call it a barn find. Rare is an understatment when it comes to this car in the USA. It was imported to the USA with 17745 Kilometers, a new speedometer/odometer was put in and it made it 69439 miles. The needle for the speedometer was acting up last week so I put in a speedometer/odometer with 89880 miles. I am including all of the gauges. I drove this car less then 75 miles. The whole car was repainted before it was stored and looks nice still. It was stored inside. The dash isn't cracked even. The seats are pretty nice as you can see. I like the shade and dog gaurd screen. I was going to redo it because I love the manual transmission in a wagon. I even am including the entire rear seat kit with every nut and bolt needed to do a proper conversion. Seat belts and everything. Now it has to be dyed blue but that is pretty easy. I put on the alloy wheels but the factory steel wheels (showing the TE station wagon Sticker) and original hubcaps are for you too. I sourced a new third brake light, a full size Mercedes alloy spare and tire, and a few more goodies you will be able to use for it. The motor runs nice. 4 cylinder, new plugs, injectors cleaned, new fuel pumps and filter (I see it has a drip and I will make sure it is fixed). The car has a new thermostat, coolant, and fresh oil. The tank has been cleaned and has fresh fuel. The fuel distributor is cleaned out nice. The battery is modern. The car has Air Conditioning but I have made no effort to recharge it. The blower motor and heater works fine. The transmission shifts in all gears but I'm sure the fluid is in need of changing. These transmissions are pretty loud. Must not be much insulation in these older w124 wagons. Third gear is wining but works fine. All other gears work pretty well. This car needs to be driven! It seems to be getting better the more I drive it. The front wipers and rear wipers work great. The windshield has a mark so you can put your ez pass there. The power sunroof works but is slow as usual. The windows are crank windows. I forgot if the locks work by vacuum but the keys work. The radio works but the antenna mast is busted. The bottom of the car is nice and solid since it was a Southern car most of it's time. Under the passenger side back was patched up for some reason but looks fine. Not perfect but pretty decent. I VERY FUN CAR TO DRIVE!! I have no extra fees and NO RESERVE so win it and it's yours. I have the Florida Title and it is clean and in hand. No salvage, repo, damage title. Photo gallery
