1987 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series Base Convertible 2-Door Description

Up for auction is candidly a true gem. A 1987 Mercedes-Benz 560SL finished in its original coat of Dark Blue with grey leather interior. I purchased this car some time ago from a fanatical woman owner who received the car as a wedding present from her father in 1995. Now, to say this woman is strange is a understatement. She was the most fanatical type A perfectionist I have ever met. This car was never stored outside a day in its' life and candidly it truly shows.
The original coat of nautical blue is in super nice shape, I just had the car sent out and detailed and boy, that paint does shine like new. The interior has no carpet stains, or issues and shows commensurate with a car of these miles.
The car runs great, and was maintained with a open checkbook. Included is the hard top, stand, spoons, tool kit, window sticker, maintenance book and all receipts.
The car has never been in any accidents and is completely rust free.
It should be noted that I have done extensive preventative maintenance on this car to include the timing chain and rails. These items are plastic and degrade with age, not miles. Subframe bushings, I have never seen a 107' that did not need subframe bushings. A weak point in these cars for sure.
The car needs nothing to drive and enjoy. Car comes with original Becker radio and a aftermarket radio. No wires or holes were cut in this car. Truly a drivers car.
My reason for selling is that I have been collecting vintage Mercedes for many years. My interests have changed so everything must go.
