European Motor Studio is proud to offer this stunning all original 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL Roadster finished in a rare shade of Cabernet Red over Palomino. Having left the Stuttgart in December of 1987 and invoiced to Mercedes-Benz of North America. The car sold new on March 14, 1988 by Phoenix Motor Company to its first owner and had been maintained by them since the sale to the second owner in 2000/2001. The car was sold to the second owner out of Phoenix and from there maintained by Schumacher Mercedes-Benz to present. The stunning original Cabernet Red paint is in outstanding condition and aside from small stone chips in the front nose the paint shows new flawless. The original interior is in beautiful condition showing minimal wear and is free from any dash cracks (center console leather shows a few cracks). The wood shows very well and free from any cracks in the finish (wood shift knob is on the car presently but the original black shifter is with the car). The 5.6 liter V8 engine starts right up and does not smoke under start up or acceleration. The engine pulls beautifully through all of the RPM range and the transmission shifts smoothly through all of the gears. The car rides as it should without any issues in the suspension or looseness in the steering. A recent major service has been performed to the car including new front steering bushings, pugs wires and fluids. All of the electronics are operating as designed including all of the exterior and interior lights, AC is ice cold, the original Becker radio with power antenna, power windows and door locks and all dash lights. The soft top has been replaced and is almost brand new and fits perfectly. The hardtop comes with the original tool and latches down and removes without any issues. Accompanied with the car are the original Mercedes-Benz books, original Mercedes/Becker cassette, original first owner metal plate, unused tools, the original spare tire and the jack. Service documentation dating back to brand new including all of the original dealer signatures and stampings are all present and a clean and clear Carfax and title.
