1974 Mercedes-Benz 200-Series 240D Description

I have enjoyed this original California car over the past year after purchasing it from the previous owner in Northern Virginia who owned the car for more than 10 years and took great care of it.
I currently drive the car to work about twice a week (25 miles round trip) and the car starts on the first attempt every time. The car is 43 years old and the exterior looks quite good for its age. PO repainted the car in 2007 and the exterior in in quite good shape as is evidenced by the photos. There is mild undercarriage rust and the rear floor pans will need to be replaced at some point but a mechanic has inspected the frame and stated that it is in good shape.
The previous owner spent over $7,000 maintaining this vehicle over the years and I have copies of his receipts. I will email the receipt to any interested party.
Here is some history of this model:
"The Mercedes-Benz 240D was introduced in 1973 in Europe (1974 in North America) as a new diesel-powered variant of the W115 chassis, outranking the 220D as Mercedes' most powerful diesel car. Introduced in 1973 at a price of 19,913.40 Marks, the cost was four times the typical car of the time. It had many available luxuries, such as heated seats, cruise control, leather seats, and a manual or power-operated sunroof. It was at the time the fastest diesel engine available, though its OM616 4-cylinder, 2.4 litre engine only produced 65 hp (48 kW). Along with a curb weight of roughly 3050 lb (1380 kg), this gave the 240D a relatively poor power to weight ratio, and thus acceleration was unimpressive and top speeds rarely exceeded 140 km/h (~90 mph), unless on a downward inclined road."
The Good:
Engine and transmission are very strong and I have no issue driving the car through the Virginia mountains, around town or on the Interstate. Car has been loved and spent most of its life in California. Has a working A/C. Lights and signals work but the indicators will not stay in place when activated. Rare 4-speed is awesome. Have never driven the car without getting at least one thumbs-up. Paint looks quite good as do all 4 wheels. New tires. PO drove the car from Washington DC to Cleveland several times without incident.
Maintenance Performed by PO:- Exhaust Replaced- Valve Adjustment- Replaced Reostat- Rear Axle Boot replaced- Fuel Filter Replaced- New Battery- Replaced Clutch Slave Cylinder and Bled System- Cooling System Service- New Tires- Transmission Serviced and Fluid Replaced- Differential Serviced and Fluid Replaced- Replaced Brake Caliper and Pads- Replaced Shifter Bushings- New Suspension Stabilizer Bars- 4 Coat Repaint of body
Items to be addressed:
Drivers seat belt is stuck and needs to be freed or replaced
A/C works and blows cold but the fan switch has to be held manually for it to operate.
Odometer / Speedometer do not work
Radio does not work
I have taken honest photos of the car...all taken on 22 October 2017. I am happy to email the PO's service records to any interested buyer. Personal inspections welcome, I will meet shippers at my home to load the car if you elect not to drive it home.
A cold start video of the car taken on 29 October can be seen here:https://youtu.be/mYaBnvr7BhI
Car starts on first attempt and has an electric starter installed (Pull the Starter plunger until the glow plus light up and then simply press a button).
