1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SEC showing 125K miles, AMG wheels
1989 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series Description
After 50 years of restoring my own personal cars - mostly Mercedes and Jaguars, but others going back to 1914 and a Classic 1934 Pierce Arrow, I am hanging it up at age 71 and selling my last two Mercedes. I bought this car sight unseen for the engine, only showing 125K miles, but when it was delivered i discovered that it was much too nice to part out, so decided to bring it back to life. It had sat for a long time so I cleaned out the gas tank and fuel lines and installed two new Mercedes fuel pumps. It starts on the first turn and runs decent. Straight body and doesn't leak a drop of oil. Original Mercedes mats and three AMG wheels. The tires are old. The windshield is cracked and the clear coat is peeling. I bought all new front end parts to start a ground up, but too tired now. The new front end parts go with the car. Interior is decent. Most of the electrics work, including the clock. I don't know about AC or Cruise. I've driven it to 60 mph, but no faster with the old tires. I would consider it an easy restoration. I think that the price is fair for both of us. I am also selling it's brother, but it is more expensive. I'll make a deal for both cars and extra Mercedes parts. The correct listing price on this car is $3250.
