1969 Mercedes-Benz Other PU Description

1969 Swiss Unimog 404S with the following: 2.2L, 6-cylinder engine (German Army surplus) installed in Nov. 2000, 6 speed transmission (also German Army surplus installed with the engine), clutch, throw out bearing (installed with trans), electronic ignition with "civilian" distributor cap, plugs and wires, 2 optima red top batteries (installed in 2017), slave cable receiver and H4 halogen headlights. (The odometer read 2000 km when the engine, transmission and clutch were installed. It now reads 67,400 km).
Note: When I picked up the vehicle, the odometer read 74,000km and was not working. I replaced it with a new one shortly thereafter. Actual mileage is unknown.
Additionally, I replaced the Swiss fixed top with a NATO-style folding top with new rubberized canvas cab tarp and set of windows, the shocks in 2015 and new tires a few years before that. In late 2010/early 2011, I rebuilt the braking system (wheel cylinders, master cylinder, slave cylinder, vacuum booster and rubber brake hoses.) Included in the price is a Swiss Army issue 2-stroke generator (with 12V and 24V selections), 28V air compressor, slave cable (use with generator to charge the batteries or with the compressor to fill the tires), tow cable, a Swiss Army issue tire changing kit, bed bows, 2 cotton canvas tarps (1 smaller one to cover the bed without the bows and 1 larger one for use with the bows (the original Swiss issue bed canvas was not fit for use), various spare part (fuel pump rebuilt kit, gaskets, seals, generator brushes etc), extra set of windows, 2 workshop manuals (1 new reprint in German and 1 copy-of-copy in English), maintenance booklets (English, French and German), bottle jack with attachments and a genuine wheel hub pulling tool. During the time I owned this vehicle (Nov. 1999 to present), I have performed all maintenance as needed. Free free to call me (or text) at 949-460-3213 or email me with any questions.
