The 500SL is also fastest production R107 SL produced!!

During its production course from 1980-1989 there was ONLY 11,812 of 500SL’s produced WORLDWIDE and this beauty is ONE of them!!!

Exterior:

Its HIGHLY Desirable and Rare Midnight Blue Paint (Paint Code 904G dunkelblau) has a beautiful shine and luster, and it makes this SL look absolutely stunning!!! Chrome is in absolutely excellent condition, it is complete, healthy and new looking, and this beautiful roadster is a head turner and conversation piece everywhere it goes.

Body is in wonderful condition and it is straight as an arrow! All doors, hood, and trunk are operating with ease, and everything lines up properly. It was never in an accident, and It has been always garaged, pampered and kept away from rain and bad weather!!

Factory VIN # stamping on the front radiator support shows originality of this car. Whole engine bay is healthy looking and very clean, without signs of paint, undercoating, or any other signs of abuse!!!

There is just not a lot of 500SL’s out there in this solid and amazingly kept and preserved condition!!

Original undercarriage and floors are solid, unmolested and free of any kind of undercoating’s! If you wipe the road dirt and dust from the inside of the fenders, original factory Blue Paint is revealed, proving the originality of the undercarriage, and showing how solid and beautiful this SL actually is!

Another sign of originality of this beautiful car is stamping mark on the Hard Top (23493) which reflects the last 5 digits of the vehicles VIN number!!!

Original Bundt wheels are wrapped with like new Michelin Defender tires, and they make this SL ride beautifully!

Gray interior is in excellent condition!!!! Carpet is in great condition, not faded, and its rips and tears free!!

Heated Seats (Rare Factory Option) are supple, in excellent condition as well, new looking, and very supportive and comfortable.

All rubber seals are nice and soft!

Whole interior is in excellent condition, and it smells brand new inside! Wood looks great, and the power windowsare all working as they should!!

-Engine & Transmission

European Spec 5.0 Liter V8 Engine starts up with ease, and it is strong and powerful as ever with only 79,000 miles on the odometer (only about 2,300 miles per year!!).

Right before we acquired it, its previous owner had it serviced with fresh oil change, brand new Bosch Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, and Fuel Accumulator.

Despite the larger 5.6 liter engine of the 560 SL, the 500 SL is recorded as being the fastest production R107 SL produced. The 500 SL was published by Mercedes-Benz as having 0-60mph times of 7.4 seconds for a top speed of 225km/h (140mph). Torque for the 500 SL is 296lb·ft (401N·m) at 3200 rpm and for the 560 SL 287lb·ft (389N·m) at 3500 rpm.

Automatic Transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly through every gear, and it makes this SL absolute joy to drive and cruise in! This German Roadster handles great at the high speeds, and it is very comfortable.

Air Condition works as it should, and this car is ready for some fall topless fun!!!! There is nothing better than driving down the road with the top down, and the wind in your hair!!!

This beautiful Mercedes comes with its original owner’s manual, Safety Triangle sign as well as with its original Tool Set!

Original Michelin Spare tire NEVER touched the road!!!! All proper new tire markings are still visible on the tire!!! VERY rare to find on a vehicle that is few years old, let alone on a vehicle that is 33 years old!!!!!
