No reserve, clean car with no accidents, low miles
1987 Mercedes-Benz 400-Series 420 SEL Description
I'm motivated to sell but so much has been put into this car and I can't let it go for nothing. For thisprice it really is a steal. I've spent almost $10,000 in interior/body/engine work all of which is documented. The car now has working air conditioning and a new O2 sensor both as of about3months ago, reconditioned wheels and a reconditioned back seat. The front drivers/passenger seats used to lay almost flat on the floor but that has been reconstructed andare now very firm. New rear windshield with working defroster, new rear view mirror installed and I had the plastic part of the headlights replaced on both headlights. I've replaced the front pads and rotors and had an engine and transmission leak fixed in late 2017. The car currently has no leaks whatsoever. Within this year I've had the timing chain, guides and timing chain tensioner assembly, timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, water pump, distributor andpower steering gear box assemblies all replaced. The car starts right up and shifts smoothly and runs and drivesquite well. An aftermarket CD player and 5% tints were professionally installed. The car comes with weathertech floor mats, a wooden shift knob (not installed), foot rests for the rear occupants, two keys and a full set ofowners manuals. The powerseats, windows, sunroof and cruise control allwork. The car comes equipped with Michelin Premier tiresthat haveabout 2,000 miles on them. It's an old car and yes it does have some imperfections. The wood on the cigarette lighter came off and the cigarette lighter itself isn't working, some cracks in the wood(nothing too extreme esp. for the age), a whiteish stain on the carpet on the rear drivers side, on the drivers side behind the rear wheel the paint is bubbling up but not rusting, the car has some scratches(mainly on the front and rear bumpers as pictured), and a fewdents but nothing too out of the ordinary. The leather doesn't have any tears in it but the leather on the two front seats is a littleworn but all and all not too bad. The coin tray has a few holes in it as if it were burned by a cigarette. Being that for the most part these are minor cosmetic issues the car all around is in really good shape. Mechanically the cars odometer just stopped at 77,857 about a month ago andsince that time its been driven about 200 miles. The car also can be a little sluggish when accelerating for some reason of which I'm not sure as to why. These should be somewhat simple fixes by someone who is knowledgeable of these cars or a mechanic butI'mneither. This car will easily have a useful life cycle of another 150,000 plus miles.I've enjoyed owning and driving this car and would gladly keep it butI'm moving to a condo with a one car garage that being saidthis isn't my daily and I already have multiple cars soI figured it's easier to try and sell it than pay to store it. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Thank you. - Mike
