1973 Mercury Comet GT Barn Find Numbers Matching 302 V8 Bucket Seats Original
1973 Mercury Comet Description
1973 Mercury Comet GT. 302 V8. A/C, PS, manual drum brakes, automatic, floor shift with bucket seats. Numbers matching engine!! Originally a 2BBL but converted to 4BBL (Holley 600 CFM carb and Edelbrock intake) and headers were added. Includedis the original 2BBL set up and exhaust manifolds. Engine was rebuilt before it went into long term storage but do not know how long ago that was. A/C is off but included as well as the A/C lines. The condenser is missing. Dash is not cracked and the interior would clean up nice. Rado hole is also uncut but has an aftermarket radio in it that is not hooked up.Barn find. Last plated in 2001. Pulled from the barn two weeks ago. New starter solenoid, points, condenser, coil, and plug wires. The engine runs very strong and does not smoke or leak. Car does run, move, and stop under it's own power. The carb needs a rebuild (Holley Renew kit included), front tires are over sized, and the fuel tank leaks which means it would need some work and can't be driven on the road. Mileage appears to be accurate as I found an oil change record from 1991 with 99,963 miles. Body is in fair shape and the pictures show the overall condition. Right rear quarter needs to be replaced and the left rear lower quarters need patches. All floors, rockers, front frame work, and torque boxes are solid. Lower front K-member looks like it met a rock at one time. Car was originally from Arkansas. Battery will be included but it does not hold a charge very well. It can be jumped easily though. Car is located 40 miles north of Detroit and can be inspected in person by appointment. $500 deposit required at the close of auction through PayPal. Balance due in cash upon vehicle pick up. Vehicle must be picked up within two weeks of auction close but am flexible due to the Holidays. Please ask all questions before bidding. Thanks for looking!
