This is a very rare Cougar Eliminator – There were just 2267 Mercury Cougar Eliminators produced for 1970, only 1667 were competition blue and only 374 were equipped with the 428 ci Cobra Jet engine. Of the 374 that were made with the 428 Cobra Jet only 102 were competition blue. There were only 192 with C6 Automatic Transmission (U) and of those only 48 were competition blue.

I had this car restored in 2002. At the time that I had it restored, the motor did not need to be overhauled, but since it had over 100,000 miles on it, I had the motor completely overhauled and it has less than 2000 miles on it since the restoration. It was put back to factory specs. It is a numbers matching car. It has all original interior that has never been recovered. It did have new carpet put in during the restoration. It has been in my personal collection of over 30 muscle cars for almost 20 years, but It is time for someone else to enjoy this car. It needs to be driven. It is very fast and ready to go!
