This competition blue 1970 Cougar Eliminator is one of only about 30 located with a factory electric sunroof. Only 102 (including 2 for Ford executives) were made in 1970 as part of a special “Rent a Racer” program with Hertz. This car is believed to be essentially original with original numbers matching engine and less than 68,000 miles. In addition to the power sunroof, this Cougar came with 351-4V V-8 engine, FMX Select Shift automatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, factory air conditioner (not currently charged), competition suspension, white high-back bucket seats. In total over two years, only 4,518 Cougar Eliminators were ever produced. Marketed as luxury sports cars, Eliminators are sought after. This is a nice and rare driver with great styling and comfortable ride. This car has been part of a private collection in Ohio since moved from Georgia in 1981. Previously hidden from the general public, this Eliminator has recently been added to the Mercury Cougar Eliminator Registry.
