1957 Mercury Monterey "True barn find"
1957 Mercury Monterey Description
I recently inherited this classic Mercury from my 84 year old aunt. She purchased the car used in Tecumseh, Oklahoma in 1986 with 43,430 miles, drove it to her new home in Arizona, and then rarely drove it. The engine has not run since 2012 but it turns and should start with little effort. The odometer shows 45,384 actual box A miles. The body is very straight with one dent in the passenger rear door (see pics). There is only minimal surface rust and the trunk, floors, and pan are very solid. All emblems, lettering, etc. are present. The paint is original and exhibits a patina that only 60 years of age can produce. All of the glass is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. There is some minor delamination of the vent windows. The upholstery and headliner were recovered at some point with non-original fabric and is very clean and presentable. The door panels are original as is the carpet. There are only three hubcaps. Some pics show the car on jack stands, I was replacing a couple of tires on photo day.
