About an hour east of Sacramento is a car that you don't see everyday - a beautiful 1968 Mercury Cougar, powered by a high performance 5.0 liter (302 ci) V8 engine.
No reserve auction - - high bidtakes the car. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY. If you have a feedback score of less than 10, contact me before bidding to verify how serious you are, otherwise I will cancel your bid.
The gorgeous red paint is only about 2 years old. This car is further set apart as a Dan Gurney Special. The current owner is only the third one. The second owner rebuilt the original engine and transmission. The odometer reads just over 94,000 miles.
Shifting is done with an automatic transmission, and stopping is handled with front disc brakes. The vinyl top was redone immediately after the paint job. The original radio is still in place, but the car has been upgraded with a modern stereo as well. A new starter was just installed. This vintage cruiser still has the original black and gold license plates, as well as the original dealer license frame!
This car is rust-free, clean, dependable, and extremely sharp. The only known issues are that one of the headlight covers needs a new vacuum canister, there is some minor carpet damage in one spot, there is one minor crack in the original windshield, and the windows could use some alignment adjusting.
The sale includes the original wheels, hubcaps, intake manifold, carburetor, valve covers, air cleaner, and other parts. This car has been garaged since the paint job.
It is getting harder to own a piece of American Muscle Car history; here is your chance. Contact Morgan for a chance to view this car today, at 530-320-3233. I will cooperate with shipping - - this car can go worldwide. Thanks for looking!
On May-10-18 at 06:34:44 PDT, seller added the following information:I forgot a couple of details. The car has power brakes, with factory disc in front and drum in the rear. They work excellent. It is equipped with factory power steering, which also works smoothly and quietly. There is no AC, factory or otherwise. The car was originally light green, but owner number two had the car covered in a high-quality red paint job. It is unlikely you will be able to find evidence of the original color anywhere.
