It is VERY RARE as only 15,166 Dan Gurney Cougars were built in 1967 !! We recently purchased this Cougar from the previous Arizona owner and as you can tell in the pictures and video it was his pride and joy !! It still retains it's - FACTORY ORIGINAL - driver's door mounted Mercury data / VIN tag - FACTORY ORIGINAL - trunk lid mounted jacking instruction sticker - ORIGINAL - Mercury Dan Gurney sales brochure and a Deluxe Marti Report, all of which are shown in several pictures below. This is a NICE - DRY - SOLID - Arizona - Idaho High Mountain Desert - Western car and it shows !! I drove this Cougar as my daily driver for the last several days and I assure it runs and drives VERY WELL !! It is a GREAT driver in town and cruises down the freeway easily and smoothly. At the heart of this Cougar is what appears to be the VERY STRONG !! - FACTORY ORIGINAL !! - 289 CID V8 motor that is running VERY well. The motor also sports an Aluminum 4 barrel intake manifold, Hedman Performance headers, ORIGINAL chrome valve covers, Holley Performance 4 barrel carburetor and the ORIGINAL "289" scripted chrome air cleaner housing, etc.. Sounds GREAT too with the THROATY performance true dual exhaust system with custom X-pipe and dual chrome tips. The engine is backed by a SMOOTH !! - Code "1" - Three speed floor-shift manual transmission that also functions very well. The BEAUTIFUL !! - MOSTLY ALL ORIGINAL - Code "2A" - Black Vinyl Cougar bucket seat interior is in VERY NICE condition including VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl front bucket seats, NICE ORIGINAL Black carpets, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Matching Black Vinyl door panels, NICE ORIGINAL Cougar steering wheel, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Factory Gauge clusters, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl rear bench seat, VERY NICE NEW Black Vinyl headliner, NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl sun visors, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black dash and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Black Vinyl dash pad with NO CRACKS !! The suspension and drive line seem to be in good working order as well as the electrical system. A full set of correct original stainless steel wheel covers will be included with the car. All of the ORIGINAL chrome and stainless steel exterior body trim and moldings are in NICE condition including VERY NICE ORIGINAL Badging, VERY NICE ORIGINAL Chrome front bumper, Good ORIGINAL Chrome rear bumper and a VERY NICE ORIGINAL Front grill and headlight surrounds. The CLEAN - SOLID trunk also sports the original vinyl liner, a full size spare tire and the ORIGINAL jack. All of the ORIGINAL light lenses and reflectors are also clear, bright and BEAUTIFUL !!
