Same owner since 1980, 37 years! Has a folder of restoration receipts and owner history going back to 1962. It was a full frame off, show quality restoration decades ago but still shows very well and functions great. EXTERIOR: The body and paint sure have proven themselves, it looks like they were restored yesterday. The body is all clean metal, there's no signs of bubbling or cracking. It's polished out to a smooth glass like finish. All of the chrome... is brilliant, looks like it was rechromed yesterday. All the weatherstrips and seals were replaced and are still soft rubber. All new Ford script safety glass. There are plenty of accessories including bumper guards, bumper wingtips, blue dot tail lights, locking gas cap, fender skirts and a spotlight. The rims are painted red and have deluxe trim. The big whitewalls are radials. The top really adds to the beauty of the car. It is a Hartz cloth canvas top in brand new condition. Same color as the interior. INTERIOR: It is really nice inside. It looks like it was completely redone at time of restoration. The instruments, knobs steering wheel are real nice. The speaker grill is a little warped. The upholstery was redone, other then some mild cracking in the lower seat cushion, it looks new. It is carpeted front and back. All interior chrome looks new. The convertible top frame was restored and painted. It's pretty decked out inside too. Has radio, deluxe heater, clock- seatbelts and turn signals were added. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: There's a few nice upgrades under the hood including some vintage performance equipment. A set of finned Offenhauser aluminum heads, Offenhauser aluminum intake and a 4 barrel carb. Upgraded to an alternator from a generator. A Walker radiator with an electric fan keeps it running cool. In addition to the large trumpet horns it has a vintage air horn too. The metal is is clean and painted real nice. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: In the trunk it has a painted red rim with a brand new matching radial white wall. The trunk is completely solid and painted. The rubber mat has gotten brittle and cracked. UNDERSIDE: The body was off the frame for a thorough restoration underneath. It appears to be a rust free car. The frame and chassis are smooth black, not pitted. The floor pan is the same color as the outside and looks mint. The components look proper. In back it has an optional 2 speed Columbia rear end, great for highway speeds. The trans is a 3-speed. The bottom of the motor is still clean. Suspension parts all look good. It's not greasy or grimy. This car must not have been used much. We purchased this car from an elderly man that had a 30 car collection. This was the last one he sold because it was his favorite. It sure looks like it was cared for like a favorite! I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered.
