1970 Mercury Cougar Deluxe Comfortweave Description

1970 Cougar Convertible 351W, Automatic, PS, Power Disc brakes, 9" rear end. 100% complete running car in need of restoration. This very straight car has been restored in the past with new floor pan replacements installed as seen in the photos. They did not do a very good job underneath and I would recommend some additional work. The transmission tunnel is in good shape as is the firewall and rear axle area of the floor. I have installed two perfect front fenders and have a very good spare passenger's door. The rear quarters also have some Bondo on them. The engine bay, radiator support and front frame are in decent shape with the typical rust below the battery and spots at the fender aprons. The shock towers are in good shape. The trunk area is also in good shape. The trunk lid and hood are decent. The Convertible top motor runs but the cylinders leak and need to be rebuilt. The top frame is complete and functional. The seats and seat frames are included. There is an after market radio/cd with an aux input that works. 4 Brand new tires (which are a few years old). The bumpers are bone straight but need to be re-chromed. This car is in need of a good sheet metal guy. It is an excellent candidate for a full restoration, a resto-mod or even a donor car. The car has a clear Colorado title in my name and comes with a Deluxe Marti report.
Mercury made just over 2000 1970 Convertibles so there are not many out there. I have added the Marti report which indicates that very few Cougar's, only 133 were painted beautiful Medium Blue, and only 74 of them had this paint / trim combination, I have also added two images of a similar car for reference.
I have re-listed the car due to a no show buyer. I have taken additional photos of the underneath of the car which are available on request. Based on the used parts prices this car is worth way more than I'm asking in parts and it is a fully functional car. This may be the last chance you'll have to buy a Cougar Convertible for less than $5,000.00
There is a large parking lot next door where I can help load on to a transport if necessary.
Thanks for looking.
