1967 restored MGB Roadster
1967 MG MGB Description
1967 MBG fully restored. I stripped the car down to bare metal and replaced both floor pans and added new door skins. I added steel backing plates to prevent the cracks of doom on the door to window connection before getting a new paint job in Aston Martin racing green. The doors are the older style pull handle type. The engine was fully rebuilt with new pistons, bearings, camshaft etc. less than 1,500 miles on it.The 3 syncro gear box has been rebuilt including new baulk rings (steel) 2nd gear and brass 3rd and 4th.The steel dash has been repainted in wrinkle finish black. The car has fully restored black leather seats.New carpet (one small blemish)New interior panels.New rear chrome bumper.New soft top cover.New seat belts. The underside is clean.New rear leaf springs and reconditioned front suspension. All bushings are new.New stainless steel exhaust. The headlights are bright with an upgraded relay kit installed.
Work left to do:Speedo needle bounces and the heater knob/cable is stiff . Window wash sprayers need hooking up.The soft top can be difficult to close, I wanted a tight top but there is room to slacken it off a little.
The car has been a pleasure to work on and is a great driver. I don't drive it enough and need the space in the garage. I have dozens of photos from the rebuild (the last 4 photos are examples) that I will put on a thumb drive and I have a few spare parts that I will throw in the boot and will also include a car cover. I will also give you the receipts for the parts I have purchased over the last few years.
