Car was in a climate controlled warehouse near Atlanta since 1984
Bought new in Atlanta, warm weather driven till 1984 when it was put into hibernation, according to previous owner's family member.
I bought it 09/17 from the original owner's family and trailed it home to Ohio
It has been stored indoors since I bought it
There was a receipt from Midas dated 07/84 for exhaust work, the tail pipe and muffler still look new, there was also a receipt from NAPA for 2) 6 volt batteries dated 07/84The batteries also still look new but are useless from setting. You be the judge.
When I got it home I soaked the cylinders with automatic transmission fluid for a week, the engine turned free by hand.
I switched out the 2) 6 volt batteries and converted it to 1) new 12 volt.Oil & filters were charged and an attempt to get the engine to fire was unsuccessful, no fuel to carbs, but good spark.
The tank was removed, cleaned and re-installed. New OEM SU fuel pump installed.
Compression test showed weak #2 cylinder, wet & dry test#1) 145lb #2) 135lb #3) 145 lb #4) 145lb.The head was sent to the machine shop, cleaned, magnafluxed, checked for straightness, new valves, hardened seats, springs, retainers, and guides, no milling required.paid $450
Top of block, cylinders, crank, rods, all look good but somewhere in time the engine has been bored .030 over, the cylinder bores look good, should only require light hone and new rings. Cam, lifters, push rods, and rockers look good.
New ARP stud kit, new cam bearings, new complete gasket kit included
Currently the engine is apart and boxed up with every nut, bolt, washer and clip, plus extra parts included.Original SU carbs included.
The transmission is out an appears to have never been apart.

The body has never had any repair work done, retains it's original paint, not so much as a touch-up.
The paint is thin in spots, has scratches, and a few bumps...it's 46 years old.
The glass is good, windows go up and down, the interior is original, dash has cracks, seat foam on driver side is weak, vinyl seat covers look to be original and free of rips, the carpet appears original and in good condition.
The top is falling apart, frame is good and goes up and down freely.
At one time someone installed an aftermarket radio, the hole is not butchered and the wiring is not hacked, I bought a radio delete plate from Moss which is included. The antenna is still mounted and speaker holes in the trunk divider were cut.
When I first installed the new battery I test all the lights, every light worked after setting for 34 years, the wipers, horn, turn signals, high beam, low beam, and had spark to the engine...amazing.NO ELECTRICAL ISSUES
Included with sale 4) brand new, with zero miles, tires mounted and installed 10/17

As far as the rest of the car goes, I believe this to be one of the most solid, un-restored MGB's in existance, you'de be hard pressed to find a cleaner B, I've owned 3 in the past and can assure you that these cars were not built to survive harsh weather, rust is your biggest enemy.
The prices of these cars are going up as we speak, don't pass this up.Regrettfully I have too many un-finished projects, time to start thinning the herd
Don't be fooled into thinking that you can buy a cheap rust bucket or someone's failed patched projectand build one on a budget, because it is not going to happen. RUST IS YOUR ENEMY !!!
This car is in overall very good condition, there are many routes you could take, it's solid enough to do a V8 swap, make a full blown trailer queen, race car, the options are endless
