1977 MG MGB W/O engine and transmission Body only
1977 MG MGB My racing strip Description
You are bidding on a British racing green (Was blue - painted a few years ago - obviously before the following was stolen by a mechanic renovating the car :(
1977 MG convertible.
What it does not have.No. 1 No Engine - was stolen by mechanicNo. 2 No TransmissionNo. 3 No exhaust system
What I added to this car
1. Beautiful wood steering wheel2. New Gear shifter knob - wood3. High end audio system with extremely good speakers - two in the door and two in the back shelf.4. Resent paint job to british racing green. Extra touch up pain from job included.5. Weather cover for the car6. New top - I stretched it myself. I believe it came out great. Did it on a nice summers day - great weather for doing this outside.7. Replaced seats. Not new but very nice and still had its comfort zones.
I bought this car and spent some time fixing it up. I got it back on the road. Drove for one summer and put it away for the winder. Woke it up and started right away. Took it out for a spin before taking it to the shop to have everything topped off and given a good looking over underneath.
Well I drove it to much that first dave before bring it in not realizing that the oil was gone. The engine stopped working. I had the engine dropped and the transmission (the third gear was slipping so that had to be fixed anyway) I figured I would rebuild it before taking it out for the summer. Well a few days after this was done the automotive shop was closed and the owner was no place to be found. He was arrested and my parts were gone. The exhaust system was new, bran new. I even have a catalytic converter though not necessary.
I did not have the heart to start again rebuilding the car. I bought a Mazda Miata - not the same thing but I have a full warranty :) So this car is loved very much but it is being sold. I bought it from a very brave woman that served two times in the middle east.
This car is being sold as is.Buyer is responsible for all shipping related concerns. I will be here when the car is being picked up I will not allow my misanthropic part of my disposition get in the way. One restriction, Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 10:30 and 3pm I am at dialysis, but I am sure we will be able to work around this.
All the of the gages worked great, as well as the fuel pump. A little wear and tear from sun damage on the dash, not that bad all in all though.
I have the Certificate of Title for this vehicle.I bought it in 2007. Only drove one year, I do not the heart to do anymore work on it. I also had to have a double lung transplant (all things went well and was given a warranty on the lungs :).) This is also why when I bought the mazda I got it with an automatic transmission, something I always had disdain for. A sport car with a auto always seems like a sissy car (if your PC sensibilities are disturbed this word don't buy this car svp. I am less sensitive to PC correctness in person)
I found a little rust but had that patched when the car was painted - it was on the front quarterpanel. I have found not rust on the cassy or undercarriage. Body is rather solid. The tires are in an unknown state. I cannot get out to my garage right now to inflate them - but they were good with plentyif tred although, that was a while ago. I can if more photos if needed (by serious potential buyers please)
The car needs to live again. The engineand transmission ( the best deal thus far I found on ebay for bothe an engine and transmission is being sold byj_chilberta1sm) There are a few being sold right now on ebay and all for rather good prices.
Lastly, while I hope that this car is brought back to life, if you look at the parts and what they are being sold for, I estimate you could get thousandsjust for selling this off for parts. Good luckbidding
Shipping: Buyer must make all shipping and transportation arrangements. We will assist in anyway that we can to facilitate the process. This car rolls very freely for easy pick up. Please remind your car hauler that this is a small sportscar and therefore it has a narrower width than most contemporary vehicles so it must be moved with a flatbed trailer or a car trailer with narrow wheel rails (or the car may fall in between). If you cannot pick up this car in person, we recommend trying to locate cartage via UShip. We are glad to help out the driver at our end.
