1959 MGA Twin Cam Roadster - Very Original
1959 MG MGA Description
Your are bidding on a 1959 MGA twin cam roadster. This car has been in storage since the early '70s. It has never had any attempt at a restoration and retains its original, numbers-matching engine with engine number plate still attached to engine. It even still has the original distributor that it came with from the factory, DM2 40518A, which is almost unheard of as the factory offered free replacement distributors to correct an oil-burning problem these cars had when new. It also has its original glacier blue paint and light grey interior. The onlyrust holes I could find on the carare where mice built nests in 3 areas, including the trunk floor, front pan behind the radiator shell, and the shelf where the heater sits near the firewall. The rockers, frame, fenders, fender wells, etc, are all in good condition, as can be seen in some of the pictures. The only parts I noticed missing from the car are the headlight buckets and the front turn signals. Everything else is accounted for, including the spare wheel and everything that is unique to the twin cams. The engine does not turn over, but I have not tried putting anything down the cylinders to loosen it up, as I would expect that whoever buys the car will do a complete engine rebuild anyway. I do know that the car had no engine issues when it was parked in the '70s. It had just become an old car back then that no one apparently wanted to drive anymore.
I expect payment within 5 days of the end of the auction. The car can be picked up after your check has cleared my bank. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Buyer will be given a Georgia Bill of Sale only for this car as Georgia
is a non-Title state for cars older than 1985. There is NO TITLE
for this car. (EBay does not have an option box for “Bill of Sale Only”, so disregard the “Clear Title” option in their heading.)
