1955 MG T-Series 1500 Cabriolet Description
1955 MG TF 1500 Cabriolet
Autumn Red Exterior
Tan Interior
The MG TF is the last of MG's long running T-series, which dates back to the era before World War II. Only 3,150 MG TF 1500's were manufactured (2,489 in 1954 and only 661 in 1955). Of those, 2,487 were exported to the United States. This car was manufactured in February, 1955 and has been under the care of the current owners since March of 1972.
The TF is one of those unusual cars which became popular almost from its introduction and almost seamlessly moved into ‘classic’ status; its elegant lines retain echoes of the earlier T-series roadsters of the pre=war era, but the headlamps are faired into the wings, a distinctly modern touch for the early 1950s, and the sloping radiator shell and longer wheelbase also endowed the car with more graceful proportions than its ancestors as well as a distinctly more comfortable cockpit.
This TF is one of the nicest examples we have seen and the frame off restoration was very thorough and completed in 2016. We have a lot of documentation and pictures. It has been showcased in many local car shows and the car has been treated with kindness over the years and is a joy to drive.
Overall, this prestigious 1955 MG TF 1500 2 Door Roadster is a gorgeous, highly original classic that’s ready to be driven and enjoyed right away, a very high end driver to be enjoyed at local parades and car shows. With excellent documentation and excellent care, you’d be hard pressed to find a more impressive example anywhere.
