1972 MG MIDGET This car is a work of art. It was built by a premier hot rod shop with a no expense spared attitude. It was built to show off the shops talents at car shows. It was his pride and joy. The quality of the parts used and materials are the best money can buy. It would cost over a 100K to duplicate. It has a custom-fabricated front and rear suspension structures, an overbored 289ci Ford V8 with hypereutectic pistons and ported cylinder heads, a T5 five-speed manual transmission, an 8.8? Ford rear end with 3.73:1 gears, a 10-gallon fuel cell, coilovers, four-wheel disc brakes, a roll bar, and more. The car has been refinished with custom bodywork and new paint over a burgundy all leather interior with racing bucket seats, a quick-release steering wheel, and digital gauges. The car was repainted in Subaru Desert Khaki (H6Q) with a satin black powder coated grille, side mirrors, headlight surrounds, and windshield trim. Modifications include removal of the bumpers as well as the addition of a louvered cowl hood, a chin spoiler, Hella driving lights, a black soft top, custom Mongoose badging, and a body-colored roll bar that was reportedly constructed of 1.625?x.120? tubing. Bronze-painted 15?x6? and 15?x8? steel wheels wear Kumho Ecsta PS31 tires sized 165/50 front and 205/50 rear. The custom front suspension features A-arms from Classic Engineering and is fitted with adjustable coilovers, as is the four-link rear end. Braking is provided by a mixture of Wilwood and Ford discs with a Wilwood master cylinder, booster, and an in-cabin bias adjuster. The car is also equipped with rack and pinion steering and Wilwood hubs. The cockpit is trimmed in burgundy leather with matching carpets and houses period-style racing bucket seats with harnesses, drilled aluminum pedals, and a central panel with toggle switches for the lights, wipers, cooling fan, and fuel pump. The quick-release steering wheel frames an Intellitronix digital display that includes a speedometer, a tachometer, and an odometer showing 1,300 miles as well as readouts for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. An additional analog coolant temperature gauge is mounted to the underside of the upholstered dash. The 289ci Ford V8 was built with a .030? overbore, hypereutectic pistons, ported cylinder heads with Chevrolet 305 valves, new bearings, a Comp mechanical tappet camshaft, and stainless steel roller rockers. Induction is through a Holley 4160 carburetor mounted on an aluminum intake, while exhaust is via stainless steel headers. Additional features include new wiring and a custom radiator with a 16? Spal electric fan. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a World Class T5 five-speed manual transmission that was sourced from a 1989 Chevrolet Camaro and features a hydraulic throw-out bearing. The 8.8? Ford rear end is reportedly from a Mustang and houses 3.73:1 gears. A Holley electric fuel pump draws from a 10-gallon MHR fuel cell.
