The Overland Amusements Nash Metropolitan vehicle is one of the the rarest example of 1950s Auto Americana you will find anywhere! The Crosley versions that were customized by Overland from 1948-1953 are well known at Barrett- Jackson Auctions. Over the past 6 years, the average Crosley restoration sold for well over $30,000 on average, and even much much higher in a few unusual instances.
The Nash Metropolitan version of the KFD Fire Trucks made by Overland Amusements is even rarer than the Crosley version. It is estimated that less than 20 examples could have ever been built. This is the closest thing to a Metropolitan prototype you will ever find!
This vehicle cab is a true original car that was sold to the Pocono Wildlife Animal Farm in 1957. The graphics on this car are still original! This vehicle is not a mock up! I have included an original photo of this actual vehicle in action in 1972 when the Pocono Wildlife Animal Farm amusement Park was still active in Stroudsburg PA.
If you think this extremely rare Met is for you, please email me. I will be glad to discuss in detail via phone or email all the particulars that will be needed for anyone to make this car a complete joy to own and use! Suffice it to say, this is one of the nicest examples of 1950s Americana you could ever hope to own!
Once fully restored, the new owner will not only have a very rare and valuable asset, but will also enjoy the benefits of owning not only a whimsical antique Nash Metropolitan, but also a genuine 1950s Amusement park ride and a rare Fire truck parade collectible as well! These rare cars are simply a joy to own. They put smiles on everyone's faces wherever they appear.
