1957 Nash Metropolitan Convertible Conv. Project Very Original
1957 Nash Advanced Description
Nash . Very Original Metropolitan Nash Convertible. This car appears to have been painted or restored at one time as the paint was not prepped very well and there is a lot of surface rust on the car. The body itself is very solid and I cannot find signs of bondo or rust holes in it. The front floors do have some holes in them. I am going to add a link to photobucket to show more pictures. The floors would probably need to be replaced. They do make floors for these cars now. The structural part of the sub frame looks solid. I have restored three of these cars. They are weak in the floors to begin with. If I was to restore this car I would replace the front floors and add 3 layers of fiberglass to stiffen the car. When they made a convertible from the factory, they did not do any special frame work to make the convertibles stronger than the coupes. I learned that by adding fiberglass it really helps the handling of the car. The motor is supposed to be original but I cannot remember how to determine this myself. I have shown all the Data Plates and engine number plate. These cars are very easy to restore. They attract more attention than any car out there. I painted all 3 of mine this same color. Feel free to call me to ask questions or to take a look at the car. It is located in Winnsboro, TX. 75494 or about 100 miles east of Dallas. I will add a link to photobucket in the next few days. Buyer will have to arrange shipping but I will assist any way I can. Thanks Holden Wallace 512 997 8776
