1969 Oldsmobile 442 Description
Real 442 with some real muscle, 650 hp! Has great option list too. Rebuilt mechanics throughout in a rust free car. Only 1,553 miles since restored.
EXTERIOR: Really clean body, straight down each side. Bottom of the doors and fenders are clean. Original quarter panels in really nice shape. Repainted it's original Platinum silver color. The clear coat finish polished out smooth, looks wet. Door jambs are painted glossy. Stripes are painted on the hood, has a rear spoiler. Vinyl top, weatherstrips and windshield are new. Bumpers are rechromed, stainless trim has been polished. Has color matched rally wheels with BFGoodrich tires.
INTERIOR: I love the custom Autometer gauges. Has silver background, a tachometer and gauge cluster. It also features bucket seats, center console, sport wheel and stereo system. They used a retro stereo that fits right in the factory hole, has USB plug. There are kick panel speakers and 6x9 speakers in the back. There are two 12 volt receptacles in the glovebox. Down on the floor the carpet is new. Front seat cushions feel like they've been replaced, seats have been reupholstered. Door panels are excellent. Overhead the headliner and visors are excellent. Has a mesh rear shelf, good original console. Overall very nice inside.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Performance built 455 motor has been balanced and bored 30 over. Has aluminum Edelbrock heads and Mondello intake. Also has roller cam, rockers and lifters. Big 850 Holley double pumper carb with custom fuel line and throttle linkage. HEI ignition system and headers too. The front of the motor is decked out with billet brackets and pulleys. The a/c compressor, alternator and power steering pump are polished. 4 core radiator and dual electric fans keeps it running cool.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very dry, clean original metal. Under the mat is super clean. Trunk floor and quarter panels look like they are the originals. Neatly spatter painted gray. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy. Trunk light works. It does have a rally wheel spare, jack, 2 piece mat and new weatherstrip. There's a working factory power antenna.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath the mechanicals are completely rebuilt. Has very dry, clean original metal too. The inner rockers and lower 1/4s are clean. Really, the metal is extra clean under this car. The front end is all rebuilt- bushings, balljoints, springs, shocks etc. In back the suspension is new with upgraded upper and lower control arms, new springs and shocks. Bottom of the motor has extra capacity oil pan and mini high torque starter. Upgraded with a 200R-4 overdrive auto transmission. New driveshaft and u-joints. 12 bolt rear end with new 3.42 posi gears and chrome cover. All new brake system, disc in front. Has a stainless steel Pypes exhaust system with X-pipe.
This is a lot of car for the money. The previous owner spent $40,000 building the car. The motor is impressive, it's strong, starts right up and sounds awesome. The overdrive makes highway cruising easy. Real muscle with nice comfort features.
