1976 Oldsmobile Cutlass SALON Description

This is a rare opportunity for you to obtain an"EXTREMEMLY ORIGINAL" HEAVILY OPTIONED1976 455 Big Block Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon in a very desirable color combination of code 19 19U Ebony Black with a beautiful code 74G Carmine (Mahogany) interior. This automobile appears to still retain all of it's original factory applied paintwith absolutely NO evidence of rust deterioration anywhere due to the auto being ziebart rust proofed early on as clearly evidenced by the images presented by the yellow plugs in the door jambs, doors, rockers, etc., plus multiple spray areas all over the car including the trunk, inside quarters, underside fenders, etc., etc..The original lacquer paint still presents well for being literally "40" years old however it does have "multiple" areas of crows-feet, some staining, rock chips on the lower front fenders, rockers, and lower doors, etc.. It would simply be sacrilegious to repaint this well preserved piece of automotive history. The factory "hand painted" (can't replicate these folks) red/maroon pinstripes are also a true testament to the originality of the paint. As all of you Oldsmobile (or GM in general) collectors/restorers/aficionados are aware, the "original" sheet metal on this circa of cars was very wavy and this car is certainly no exception. The interior is 100% original, in "VERY NICE" condition again as displayed in the images, has a very few ash burns in the front drivers seat, one in the rear seat and a few in the carpeting unnoticeable from a normal viewing distance, and the interior smells like a fresh vintage car with a unique caveat of having a portion of the factory applied seat plastic still in place on the passenger side inner seat.An incorrect electric antennae has been installed at some point on the right rear quarter top (you can see it in the trunk images) with a small toggle switch installed in the lower dash which is inoperable.Due to the low mileage of 58,687 (appears by the overall condition of the car to be original) the car had sit for some duration and the following repairs/maintenance have been performed:New correct fuel tank, new fuel tank sending unit, entire fuel system flushed, original carburetor rebuilt, new fuel filter, new battery, fresh oil and filter change with ZDDP oil additive, front disc brake rotors turned, new premium front brake pads, (2) new BF Goodrich 225/70-15 Radial TA (rear) tires, recharge Air Conditioning system with correct R12 refrigerant (blows super cold!), install A/C thermal limiter, new correct fresh air intake hose, correct reproduction rear bumper to quarter fillers, new air filter, new correct reproduction roof panel rocket emblems, and a correct reproduction trunk lock rocket emblem.(LOADED) Factory options are but not limited to: Cutlass Salon Package, Rocket 455 Big Block (last year for the Big Block in Oldsmobile's, rare, rare, rare), Turbo 400 Transmission, Limited Slip Differential. Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Air Conditioning, Tilt Wheel, Cruise Control, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, AM/FM Stereo Radio, Rear Window Defroster, Dual Chrome Mirrors, Reclining Passenger and Drivers Seat, Trailer Wiring Harness, Tinted Glass, Sport Steering Wheel, Center Console, Under Hood Lighting, Trunk Lighting, Remote Trunk Release, Engine Block Heater (may have been added?), Space Saver Spare Tire, Rear Oldsmobile Scripted Trunk Mat, Color Keyed Floor Mats (not shown in images), (++?).This Cutlass has the original exhaust system that was installed at the Oldsmobile plant so many years ago front to back however the back of the muffler has some deterioration and would need to be replaced if driven and if the new owner so desires a new muffler will be installed at no cost, just wanted everybody to be aware it had the original exhaust still in place. There are factory tags still in place on various components, inspection markings, 1975 and 1976 date coded spark plug wires, spare tire dated January 1976 and never installed, and plenty of patina to display for this remarkable survivor Olds which you should be able to see in the images. All weather-stripping and rubber components are still soft and pliable. The car absolutely drives like you just drove it off of the show room floor in 1976 and everything works with the exception of the clock (an easy and inexpensive fix).Even the ignition switch "keys in" door warning buzzer is still operable!!!Please understand that this car is certainly not being represented as a perfect car as it certainly is not however they were a long way from that when new as well.An open inspection is highly encouraged for any and all qualified principals interested in owning this unique automobile. A free and clear Missouri title, factory built sheet, owners manual, warranty booklet, consumer information booklet, maintenance schedule booklet, original set of keys, correct reproduction set of keys, and factory Oldsmobile dealer brochure are all available for the purchaser.Truly a"TIME CAPSULE",you would be hard pressed to find a much more original and unmolested 455 Cutlass in the country...Please feel free to email with any and all questions you may have.Thank you and good luck.
