1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme - Mostly Original with 33,xxx original miles
1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Description
Up for auction is a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme that is mostly original and in unrestored condition. The car was originally purchased by my brother's father in law and is currently registered in my brother's name. I absolutely love this car and have wanted to purchase it for years, I finally did, but due to other projects and other financial responsibilities, I cannot afford to keep this car.
This running and drivingcar is a 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme with less than 34,000 original miles. The exterior is Baroque Gold and the interior is Black. It is powered by a 350 Oldsmobile motor with a 4 barrel carburetor and automatic transmission. The car has Air conditioning(untested) and also has rear window defroster.
This car has been treated exceptionally well and although it is not completely original, I believe it may be one of the finest examples of an unrestored car that I have seen. Although it hasn't been driven muchthe last few years, it was gone over by a mechanic a couple of years ago and everything was checked and anything that needed taken care of at the time was taken car of.
As stated my brother's father in law originally purchased this car in 1972, and although it was purchased as a family car and daily driver, I do not believe it has ever seen snow and if it did see rain, it was only because he was already out in the car and got caught in it.
I will try to explain everything that I know about the car in as much detail as I can. The items that are not original to the car that I know of are the cruise control, which was added later, but the original shifter handle is located in the trunk. The alternator has been changed with a replacement alternator. The rear speakers are not original and a cb radio was added to the car. Splash guards were also added and the tires have been replaced. The tires are Sears radials and they are in very good condition.
I have tried to identify any issues that I could find with the car and get pictures of them. Obviously the car could use a good washing as it has probably been about ten years since it was washed:) The car is not perfect, it is 44 years old, but there are not very many things that I could find wrong with it. Here is a list of what I did find. There is a small scratch on the passenger side front fender, approximately an inch long. Idid notice a very small spot ofrustalong the bottom edge of the passenger door that is approximately an 1/2 inch long and is only on the bottom lip of the door.
In the engine compartment it looks like maybe there was an issue with the brake lines and some brake fluid leaked around the brake booster area. There are also a few light scratches on the side of the car that should easily buff out. I also noticed that the headliner may be a little loose, but not bad. The last thing I noticed is a verylight oil leakaround the oil pan, by light I mean that there are a few drops ofoil on the floorunder the car.
Since this is a 44 year old unrestored car, it is being sold as is. It is also listed locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.
The car is located in Zanesville Ohio 43701, if you are a serious bidder and would like to make arrangements to see the car, you can contact my brother at 740-453-8419 x3 and speak to Kyle. If you have any other questions, you can send them to me through Ebay and I will respond as best I can.
Thank you for looking at my listing and good luck in the auction.
