BRIEF HISTORY OF THE BUGATTI T-64

In the spring of 1939 the Bugatti Company suffered an immense loss with the passing of 30 year old Jean Bugatti (founder Ettore Bugatti's son) while test driving the Bugatti Type 57 racer. It was at this time that three Type 64 chassis were built awaiting bodies that would take almost 70 years! The Mullin Automotive Museum acquired two of the three T-64 chassis and commissioned designers and fabricators to complete the coachwork for these inimitable classic and rare Bugatti's. Of course there were other entrepreneurs who aspired to build "tributes" after the magnificent T-64's as well and the wood buck that I am offering was built at a cost exceeding $22,000 was used to fabricate the aluminum "skin" on a re manufactured Bugatti T-64, hese cars were priced at just over $110,00 and that was if the buyer provided a donor chassis. The aluminum bodies built from this buck were selling for $67,000 about 5 years ago. While the wood buck is still in exemplary condition and can still be used to built T-64 bodies, his aesthetically superb "model" would compliment any classic/vintage car display as it is a very large and impressive display artifact measuring at over 16 feet in length!
Wood bucks were and are still an integral part of automobile body manufacturing but strangely, f you were to visit the top 100 auto museums and car collections in the country, ou would probably not find one on display (with the rare exception of Mullin Automotive Museum). Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire for your collection or showroom a professionally built Bugatti T-64 wood buck as this not only represents a solid investment at $4900, t can still be used to create aluminum skins for the priceless Bugatti T-64 tribute cars. And let's face it, ribute or replica cars after iconic brands are here to stay as the originals appreciate in values exponentially. I always consider trades of any kind and I can be of great assistance in the safe and expeditious shipping of this rare Bugatti T-64 wood buck.
