1969 Mercury Grand Marquis Description

1969 Mercury Grand Marquis Convertible (FORD, One Owner)

8-cyl-429 cu. in./320hp. Loaded off the showroom floor... air-conditioning... power top and windows...AM/FM radio. Entire life in San Diego, used exclusively for around town driving, low miles.

Engine runs very smooth. Rebuilt automatic transmission. Carburator recently rebuilt. Most service records available.

On going restoration (Fair to Good condition). Re-upholstered to original "diamond" design (see pictures). Wear on driver seat. Quality paint, to original factory "Light Blue" color, with minor chips and cracks.

  • Odometer ~150,000 miles (Odometer is frozen, but only used for village driving around La Jolla, California during early years. Over the last 20 years, garaged and driven less than 200 miles per year).
  • Two cracks on the dashboard and non-original clock.
  • Automatic convertible: Top frame is good, but the power top system will need an overhaul.
  • Air conditioning does not work, but has all components.
  • Power windows will need an overhaul (Driver's side window goes up slowly with some help, passenger window and back windows do not respond).

Sorry to need to sell it (we need room in the garage... you will too... car is 18'6" long). Looking for someone who will enjoy the smiles from driving around town. Some minor cosmetic pieces to find and work on A/C, radio, power windows and top. Perfect for someone who wants a project and enjoys top-down cruising in the meantime.
