27,000 original miles, restored body/chassis

A number of years ago, completely disassembled and body stripped to the bare metal, floors replaced, absolutely rust and damage free. Done by a new car dealer for a friend…see photos of restoration.

Interior is all original (other than replaced carpets) and in excellent condition. Top is older but fits well. Chrome is probably original and very well preserved.

Mechanically: just had a top end overhaul, all new valves and seals….140 psi compression in every cylinder. Bottom end checked, bearings were like new…doesn’t have a gauge but the oil pressure warning light goes out instantly when started…and stays out. Also, no smoke cold or hot.

Brand new clutch assembly just installed, flywheel resurfaced, works perfectly. New gearbox oil and it too works like new. New wheel cylinders and brake flex lines, brakes work fine. And yes, both gauges (fuel and speedo) work.

Fuel tank cleaned, new SU fuel pump installed, new seat belts, has original spare wheel and even the original engne starting crank handle. Engine bay and trunk are both very clean, and for general road use or show, really doesn’t need anything. A beautiful example that underwent a comprehensive body/chassis restoration.

Seats `four comfortably, will cruise all day at any practical highway speed, easily fitted with a radio, has a proper working original heater, and is as sweet a little English collector’s car as one can imagine. Fun to drive with precise rack and pinion steering, torsion bar front suspension, and modern radial tires.
