This BEAUTIFUL 1959 Riley 1.5 has been completely disassembled and restored with many new parts. Restoration was finished in April 2014 and the car has less than 200 miles since restoration, car is in air-conditioned garage.

There are not too many Riley’s 1.5 in the USA; they only imported them for one year 1959.

This started as a rust-free California car. I completely disassembled the car, stripped, prepared and painted it before beginning the assembly. The minimal bodywork needed was done very well, and the car is very straight. The paint shows some light imperfections, but it is very shiny and shows well. Most parts came from England, from the Riley Motor Club UK spare parts department. New hood hinges recast in brass to make them stronger and longer lasting.

The engine has been completely re-build, all moving parts new, crank machined and balanced, hardened valve seats to run on unleaded fuel, this engine is like new.

The 4 speed manual transmission works great except for the 3rd to 2nt shift synchro not working, double clutch works. All new gaskets and seals, new wheel bearings and new flywheel gear. 5 new tires.
All suspension disassembled, painted and rebuilt with new Poly-Bushings, gas tank restored, new brake shoes, new brake lines, new master & wheel cylinders, new clutch, all stainless trim polished, chrome all redone, new paint, all new interior, all new rubber. Basically everything was either rebuilt or replaced.The electrical system was changed from positive ground to negative ground and from original generator to alternator and electronic ignition system. Voltage regulator in place but not wired up, not needed with alternator, just for original looks. Original generator is available. No radio but front and back speakers installed.

This car is all original except for the changes in the electrical system. Comes with original jack, owner’s manual, and original California black plate, all documentation of the restoration, tons of pictures if required, this car is registered in Texas until 2018.

$500 deposit is required within 24 hours of close of auction, with remaining balance due within 7 days of close of auction. Car must be picked up as soon as possible.
