1939 Packard Model 1708 Description

HELLO,I AM OFFERING THIS RARE AND COVETED 1939 PACKARD 7 PASSENGER LIMO WITH ORIGINAL 12 CYLINDER ENGINE.
THIS IS MODEL 1708 AS FAR AS MY RESEARCH SHOWS.THIS FINE VEHICLE WAS ABANDONED MANY YEARS AGO AND SADLY, LEFT TO LANGUISH IN A FIELDIT WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED BY MYSELF AND MY PARTNER . WE HAD IT TOWED TO HIS SHOPWE DID OUR BEST TO CLEAN IT UP AND PRESERVE ALL IMPORTANT ORIGINAL PARTS.THE PHOTOS SHOW THE CAR AFTER OUR BEST EFFORTS TO CLEAN IT UP AND MAKE IT READY FOR SALE.WE HAD 4 USABLE TIRES INSTALLED SO THIS CAR WILL ROLL AND BE EASY TO LIFT ONTO A TRAILER OR TOW TRUCK FLAT BED.OUR BEST OBSERVATION SHOWS THAT THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT LOOKS ORIGINAL AND COMPLETE AND HAS NOT SUFFERED THE SAME EFFECTS OF WEATHER AND AGE THAT SHOW ON THE BODY.I HAVE NOTICED A RE BUILT PACKARD 12 CYLINDER ENGINE LISTED ON E BAY FOR $40,000SO, THIS ENGINE WILL PROBABLY JUST REQUIRE REBUILDING AND RESTORING BUT AS I SAID, IT APPEARS ALL COMPONENTS ARE THERE AND NOT TAMPERED WITH.THE INTERIOR HAS SUFFERED FROM NEGLECT AND THE ORIGINAL WOOD BODY PARTS HAVE LONG SINCE ROTTED AWAY DUE TO HARSH WEATHER.WE SAVED THE SEAT FRAMES AS TEMPLATES FOR THE RESTORATION.ALSO, THESE WAS A FIRE IN THE BACK LEFT CORNER AND CHARRED REMAINS OF THE WOOD WINDOW FRAME AND DOOR FRAMES SHOW DAMAGE.THE STEERING WHEEL AND DASH APPEAR 90% COMPLETE AND USABLE .THE PILLARS FOR BOTH DOORS HAVE SUFFERED RUST DAMAGE AND SO THE DOORS ARE SECURED WITH WIRE AT THE HANDLES.
THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY HAS BEEN COMPROMISED AT THE DOOR PILLARS.
THERE IS RUST ALONG THE BOTTOM WHERE THE DOORS MEET THE FLOOR AND WHERE THEY MEET THE ROOF.
IT ALSO APPEARS THAT A LARGE LIMB FELL ON THE ROOF AND SO, THE ROOF NEEDS TO BE POPPED UP AND RE ALIGNED.
I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE THE CONDITION OF THIS RARE PACKARD TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.I LOVE OLD CARS AND I OWN A FEW BUT I HAVE NO DIRECT EXPERIENCE WITH THE PACKARD MARQUE.
I DO KNOW THIS CAR IS AT THE TOP OF THE PACKARD FAMILY OF VEHICLES OFFERED FOR SALE IN THE COMPANY'S HISTORY.I REALIZE THAT THIS CAR WILL BE A CHALLENGE TO RESTORE BUT I BELIEVE 90% OF THE ESSENTIAL PARTS ARE PRESENT AND USABLE.THESE BABIES SELL FOR $150,000+ RESTORED AND ARE CANDIDATES FOR PEBBLE BEACH AWARDS.SO, I HOPE THIS CAR WILL INSPIRE YOU TO ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE AND BRING HER BACK TO HER FORMER GLORY.
POSSIBLY THE ONLY PACKARD 12 CYLINDER LIMO THAT HAS NOT BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR AND RESTORED.
EITHER WAY SHE'S A RARE FIND A DIAMOND IN THE ROUGH AND WORTHY OF PROFESSIONAL RESTORATION.
CAR IS LOCATED IN WEST MEMPHIS ARKANSAS$1000 NON=REFUNDABLE PAYPAL DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF PURCHASE.
