1973 Plymouth 340 4-Speed Petty Blue Space Duster
1973 Plymouth Duster -- Description
340, 4-Speed, Richard Petty Racing Blue, Space Duster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you've ever wanted a unique 4-Speed muscle car, this is an opportunity for someone to bring back to life a rare "Petty Blue" 340 4-Speed "Space Duster" with low miles (58,405), and yes it says it on the title too). Space Duster means the back seat folds down for extra space from and through the trunk, for example: you could fold the back seat down and put a pair of skis straight in through the trunk. Or you could hide a few few friends in the trunk and sneak into the drive-inn without paying for them, because they can crawl from the trunk into the back seat without being seen. I've heard many stories like this about these cars. We all know this is a rare car, but it could be a "one of one" car built. You may be able to verify with VIN research. This old girl was wrecked in the 80's and never got to cruise the strip again. She was hit in the front end, nothing too bad, bending the bumper, hood, fender and a little bit of the core support. Original engine, verified with VIN number, a 4-speed transmission (not installed) and some loose parts go with car. I've been a Mopar man for 35 years and I started adding up the parts on old blue and I can part her out for 8 to 10,000 in my ebay store, but I love Mopars and want to find the right person for this build. My health is keeping me from doing it myself.
DONOR BODY: I bought a rust-free donor body to make the project a lot easier. Not to say you couldn't fix the blue body, floors and sub-frames, but the donor body makes it a lot easier. Duster buddies told me, the donor body alone is worth $10,000.00, its under-body is amazing. Golden girl runs and drives good, automatic slant six 225. Re-cored radiator, new hoses and belts, brakes good and new master cylinder. I've been cruising her around, lots of fun, turns a lot of heads.
These days, guys are taking 6 cylinder cars, putting v-8's in them, making them pretty and selling them in the $20,000 and $30,000 range. If you think about what you are buying here, your getting: blue car (parts value 8 to 10 thousand dollars) and donor body (10,0000)
TOTAL VALUE of $18,000 to $20,000
BUT YOU COULD WIN FOR ONLY $12,000.00
