1970 Plymouth Barracuda Description

This 1970 Barracuda would make a REALLY COOL rat rod! It originally came withthe 335hp 4bbl 383, 4 speed manual transmission, bucket seats, and B5 blue paint and interior. I bought it as a bare shell; everything that could be unbolted had been removed. Although it was stripped, the frame rails were so solid that I knew it needed to be saved. It took me 3 years to get it bought and another year to piece it back together. After buying it, I went to a local guy’s place to buy some parts for my other 70 Barracuda. While I was looking through his stash ofBarracuda doors, I saw the driver’s side door from this Barracuda, which was unmistakable due to the billboards that had been painted on both quarters and doors. I showed the guy the picture of the Barracuda shell and he said “I parted that car out in the 1980’s!” He still had the fender tag so I acquired it. I asked him if he still had the dash with VIN, but he told me he had sold it a few summers back. He gave me some info so I tracked down the owner of the dash. The dash pad/frame had been sold but he had kept the VIN tag. I bought the tag and went through the process of applying for a title. Since I had the door sticker (on the original door), the VIN tag, and the fender tag, I was able to get a clear Kansas title for the car.The cabin floor pans have some holes but I’ve seen much worse. The front sub frame rails, rear sub frame rails, and torsion bar cross member are all rock solid. Both rockers are structurally solid but they have some cuts/punctures that could be patched (see pictures). The trunk pan has some holes but is pretty solid; for best results,the floorshould probably be replaced. The tail light panel has rusted on the lower edge where it overlaps with the trunk floor pan. The firewall is really solid. The lower troughbelow the windshield held water, so it will needrepaired.The roof skin doesn’t have any holes but it does have some smaller dings/dents. The dutchman’s panel is fairly solid. The rear window channels are pretty solid as well. The passenger side rear quarter panel looks like it was replaced at some point. The driver’s side quarter panel has rusted on the pillar below the roof/quarter seam, so it will probably need replaced with a full quarter panel (the one from AMD that goes half way up the rear pillar). The hood, the passenger side door, and both front fenders came from my other 1970 Barracuda. The fenders are very solid. They have some dings/dents but they are definitely savable. The doors have lots of dings/dents.
I don’t have the front or rear valances. When I bought the car, it didn’t have a rear end or rear suspension. I bought and installed an e body rearend housing and used leaf springs. The front K member is a modified B body K member that I had laying around so I bolted it in along with control arms/links so I could make it roll. I bought used original wiring, aheater box, and some seat foams (to be used as templates) which are all included. The decklid is from my other 70 Barracuda; it has some rust but is savable. I am including the grille support cage from my other 70 Barracuda as well. The bucket seats and dash frame/pad also came from my other 1970 Barracuda (which is a Gran Coupe). The doors have glass and I am including the quarter glass pieces but I don't have the mechanisms for the quarter glasses. I don’t have the original engine, transmission, driveshaft, differential, grill, radiator, bumpers, taillights, hood hinges, trunk hinges, trim, rear window, windshield, etc. The wheels/tires in the picture are not included. The car will come with some random wheels that I’ve collected over the years. You might bring some rollers if you have them.
If the car sells for the buy it now price, I will include a brand new pair of AMD door skins and a new AMD 4 speed tunnel hump. I bought them for my other Barracuda, but will include them for the buy it now price.
I have tracked the car through 5 of 6 owners since it was parted out. Each owner sold it when they couldn’t get a title sorted out. One of the owners removed the stampings from the radiator support and cowl. I have not been able to track down the stampings or who did it. Obviously the VIN number, door VIN sticker (and unique paint scheme), and fender tag options corroborate and prove the VIN belongs to the car. I just wanted everyone to be aware of it. I have a clear Kansas title and fender tag but I do not have the broadcast sheet.
The car must be picked up in person as I want the buyer to see the car in person before taking it home. Payment must be made in cash.
